Description:

This Social Worker II position will cover the MercyOne Genesis Hospice House as well as community hospice which will require some driving. The PRN position is 8 hour day shifts Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

To provide varied and ongoing social work services to Hospice patients and their families. This may include psychosocial evaluation, ongoing psychosocial counseling, direct casework services, bereavement services, community outreach and referral through collaboration with physicians, staff, families, community agencies and hospice leadership. Actively participate in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Master's Degree

Field OF Study: Social Work

Special Training: Counseling or prior medical social work

Licensures/Registration: Licensed in Iowa or Illinois required upon hire. Second state license required within 12 months. Valid Driver's License, Auto Insurance-Genesis minimum limits required.

Experience: More than 2 years experience required.

Interpersonal Skills: Interaction is with a variety of people inside or outside the organization. Communications are often difficult or stressful in nature. Contact with others involves complex, detailed and often sensitive topics. The job requires a high degree of interpersonal skills to deal with a range of complicated problem situations. Interactions involve gaining the agreement of others.
