Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity

Serves as a technical expert to lower level engineers. Acts as a liaison between the development teams and infrastructure teams to ensure consistency and commonality in technology standards. Provides technical expertise in the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise. Keep up to date on technology trends and may participate in the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions. May act as a first level supervisor and review, mentor, and evaluate the performance of individual team members. This is a mid-level to senior-level highly technical role that will serve as a mentor to more junior architects and will report to a Director of Systems Engineering.

The Work Itself

  • Uses a broad and deep understanding of technical concepts in multiple specialized fields to develop solutions to problems and critical design issues.
  • Work assignments are typically focused on critical products for the organization.
  • Works independently and will likely supervise the work of lower level personnel.
  • Creates solutions that significantly impact the future success of the customer and his/her department.
  • Changes the overall plan, goal, or project to improve the efficiency or potential of a situation.
  • May manage relationships with suppliers/vendors.
  • Configure, implement, and tune -technology- solutions to meet business and technical requirements on designated projects
  • Participate in system testing activities related to infrastructure solutions.
  • Create technical documentation to ensure effective operations/support of the infrastructure solution.
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Monitor technology availability and reliability and when necessary will assist with leading cross-domain operational/engineering teams and LOB application teams to triage high priority or performance degrading incidents.
  • Assist with operations and production coverage; provide 1st and 2nd level support for technical area of responsibility.
  • Support/Perform change requests as required for hardware upgrades, additions, configuration changes, etc. with proactive co-ordination with vendors and Ally stakeholders.
  • Comply with Change Management, Release Management, IT Risk - Compliance processes and standards.

The Qualifications We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information System, or other relevant field of study preferred.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise platforms and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in all the infrastructure layers, hardware, OS, virtualization, storage, network, database and security.
  • Strong service orientated, collaborative attitude with both peers and internal customers.
  • Knowledge of standards in IT architecture and infrastructure.
  • Strong problem solving capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of data security requirements, policies and auditing processes.
  • Constant process improvement thinking to reduce delivery time and increase customer satisfaction.
  • In depth technical knowledge.

Base Pay Range

$110,000.00 - $180,000.00 An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.

Incentive Compensation:

This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
