Position Summary

The Sr Program Manager of Inventory Placement & Network Design owns the analytical intelligence that determines where inventory is positioned across O&M’s ~50-node distribution network and supports the expansion of the distribution network’s physical footprint. The role validates cube utilization at the location level, ensures building and functional designs match the inventory profile they will carry, and models the supply chain for new network additions before commitments are made. It requires financial modeling rigor, supply chain analytical depth, and the ability to translate operational data into network decisions that reduce cost and protect service across the organization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own the customer and inventory placement analytical function: demand-by-DC modeling, days-of-cover disparity analysis, and the T2/T3 (head/body/tail) cohort framework that identifies stranded and overstock inventory across the network.
  • Own DC capacity analytics across the network: cube utilization, pallet-position capacity, and headroom by site, so capacity, lease, and investment decisions run on validated physical numbers rather than site-reported estimates.
  • Own functional building design validation: assess rack, aisle, MHE, and storage-medium configurations against the inventory profile each site carries so designs make operational sense before capital is committed.
  • Build supply chain models for new network additions — new customers, new geographies, and acquired volume — covering demand-by-geography mapping, sourcing DC assignment, capacity absorption, and ramp scenarios.
  • Facilitate the acquisition / moving of customers to and from new / closing DCs from the Capacity side.
  • Support lease renewal workstreams across medical distribution and global products businesses.
  • Identify strategic opportunities to reduce fixed cost spend in warehouse footprint across the supply chain, working cross-functionally with operations to reduce barriers and drive impact.
  • Produce capacity and placement KPIs for WBR and MBR reporting: utilization by site, capacity headroom, days-of-cover disparity index, and stranded inventory value.
  • Provide consultation on network flows and supply chain design to Senior Leadership, including but not limited to NPV impact and PowerPoint presentations highlighting impact.
  • Provide mentorship to Analysts and Senior Analysts regarding project plans, standardization of work / reporting, and executive communication.
  • Ability to travel ~10% - 20% to Distribution Centers and Plants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; analytical, supply chain, finance, or engineering discipline preferred.

  • 4+ years in supply chain analytics, capacity planning, inventory management, or adjacent quantitative role.

  • Experience at Amazon, GXO, or comparable data-driven operations environment strongly preferred.

  • Distribution operations exposure preferred; willingness to develop DC-level operational literacy required.
