Responsibilities

The Department of Pediatrics at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin and Albert Lea, Minnesota is seeking a board certified/eligible pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist to join a physician-led organization in a community practice.

The scope of the inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist duties include:

  • 9 shifts per month (1.0 FTE)
  • Direct care of admitted pediatric patients within the hospital (approximately 75-100 pediatric admissions annually)
  • Coverage of the Level 1 Nursery (approximately 650 births annually)
  • Pediatric nurse phone triage available
  • Epic EHR, connected across all Mayo Clinic sites
  • Consultations with colleagues on pediatric patients from within the region (clinic or hospital-based)
  • Precepting and direct teaching of students
  • Participation in ongoing clinical quality and research opportunities
  • Citizenship and advancement of the inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist practice

Qualifications

Candidates must be board certified / board eligible with the American Board of Pediatrics and be licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of Minnesota.

Compensation Detail

The minimum starting salary for hospital-based specialties may range from $217,500 to $533,750. This range reflects full-time total base compensation prior to consideration of additional experience or duties. Pay for the selected candidate will vary based on specialty, experience, FTE, internal equity, or external market data.
