At Prudential, we believe talent is key to achieving our vision. When you join Prudential, you’ll unlock a motivating and impactful career – all while growing your skills and advancing your profession at one of the world’s leading financial services institutions!
As part of the Strategy & Integration team, the Manager, Communications Strategic Narrative Design will report to the VP, Strategic Planning and play a critical role in making complex priorities easier to understand, sponsor and activate. This opportunity is ideal for a dynamic visual storyteller with strong communications strategy instincts, comfort working with intelligence and analytics, sharp attention to detail and the translational capability to turn business signals into executive-ready narratives. This role is not a traditional graphic design position. Success requires the ability to understand business priorities, the strategic context, interpret data and stakeholder insights, shape executive narratives and create materials that elevate Communications impact and help senior leaders move from discussion to decision.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
- Executive Narrative Design: Transform complex business, communications strategy, operating model, intelligence and analytics inputs into clear, compelling executive storylines and visual structures.
- Decision-Ready Materials: Create GLT-, CCO- and SLT-ready presentations, frameworks and briefing materials that clarify choices, support recommendations and drive alignment.
- Insight-Led Storytelling: Partner with Strategic Planning, Intelligence and Analytics colleagues to understand what the data and signals mean, then translate those implications into persuasive executive materials.
- Visual Systems and Standards: Build reusable templates, presentation standards and visual approaches that improve consistency, speed and quality across Strategy & Integration materials.
- Information Hierarchy and Translation: Shape dense inputs, data, insights, and strategic context into clean, audience-appropriate narratives with clear headlines, logical flow, strong visual hierarchy and actionable takeaways.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with the VP, Strategic Planning, CCO stakeholders and Communications leaders to understand intent, pressure-test messages and deliver polished materials under tight timelines.
- Quality and Brand Discipline: Ensure all executive materials are accurate, visually polished, on brand and tailored to the audience, with strong attention to detail and readiness for senior-level discussion.
What you’ll need:
- 5–7 years of experience in executive presentation design, visual storytelling, corporate graphic design, strategic communications, or a related creative field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Visual Design, Marketing or a related field; equivalent portfolio experience may be considered.
- Exceptional portfolio demonstrating the ability to translate complex business, communications strategy, intelligence, analytics and performance topics into clear, compelling executive materials—not simply well-designed slides.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite; ability to build reusable templates, visual systems and presentation standards that improve consistency and speed.
- Strong narrative instincts and information hierarchy skills, with the ability to turn raw inputs, dense content and ambiguous direction into crisp, audience-ready storylines.
- Strong understanding of how communications strategy, reputation intelligence, stakeholder insights, and performance analytics inform narrative choices, prioritization and executive decision-making.
- Strong stakeholder partnership skills and comfort working with senior leaders, communicators and subject-matter experts under tight deadlines.
- High attention to visual detail, brand discipline, accuracy and polish, paired with the flexibility to iterate quickly as executive priorities evolve.
