Position Summary:
The Grants Manager will assist the Peabody Research Office team with pre-award grant submissions. The grant manger supports the efforts of faculty, research associates, postdocs, and graduate students in the development and submission of superior grant proposals, following all sponsor guidelines, to federal, state, and non-governmental funding agencies.

Key Functions and Expected Performance:
Grant Proposal Preparation

Works with the project PI, to accurately prepare project budgets and budget narrative that will provide adequate funding for proposed work in a timely manner.

Keeps PI informed and aware of Sponsored Programs Administration’s (SPA) timeline for submissions and adhering to the required submission timelines.

Works closely and in conjunction with Peabody Departmental staff and grant managers, and SPA staff for timely submissions.

Reviews all documents and completed proposal packages for compliance with sponsor guidelines and university requirements.

Accurately initiates and completes all proposal packages in their corresponding sponsor systems.

Maintains an in-depth understanding of sponsor systems (Federal and Non-Federal) and university systems including ASSIST, Grants.gov, Fastlane, Research.gov, and VERA among others used in the pre-award process.
Maintain working knowledge of institute/university/college costs and requirements

Provides guidance to PIs on rules/guidelines related to faculty effort on projects, student support expectations, and other budget related matters.

Attends continuing education training and conferences as needed.

Supports SPA by serving as a point of contact for questions on the use of internal systems (such as VERA) for grant support personnel in other departments.

Provides support for other departments as back-up personnel for post-award related activities as needed.
