Our Behavioral Health Department embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, which are essential for providing specialized care to patients   This department provides clinical care for patients from Neonatal to Geriatric patients

How you'll contribute

A Charge Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Provide overall direction and supervision of patient care and nursing personnel on the unit.
  • Consult with staff, physicians, and the Program Director regarding nursing practices and hospital policies.
  • Ensure nursing staff compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
  • Participate in incident investigations and the preparation of related reports.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient care needs.
  • Implement and uphold Standards of Nursing Practice across all functions.
  • Serve as the administrative representative in the absence of the Program Director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Certifications: BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire or transfer date to position. Handle with care preferred.
  • Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Experience: One-year previous experience preferred.
  • Licenses: Must have a current Nevada RN license (Compact License N/A in Nevada)
  • Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.
