Brighten Life Home Health and Hospice in St. George is looking to hire a Massage Therapist
A Hospice Massage Therapist provides specialized massage therapy services to hospice patients, focusing on comfort, pain relief, and enhancing quality of life during end-of-life care. This role involves working closely with an interdisciplinary hospice team to address the unique physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Deliver professional massage and body treatments according to hospice protocols and accepted certification practices.

Assess, evaluate, and establish individualized massage therapy plans and goals for each patient, in alignment with their plan of care.

Provide comfort touch massage to hospice patients in their homes or care facilities, adapting techniques to the patient’s condition and preferences.

Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team (including nurses, social workers, and physicians) to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Educate patients and families about the benefits and limitations of massage therapy for symptom management and comfort.

Uphold standards of sanitation, sterilization, and safety in all patient interactions.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments, patient responses, and relevant observations in patient records.

Address patient and family questions and concerns with professionalism and compassion.

Attend and participate in staff meetings and ongoing training as required.

Perform aromatherapy during massage visits if requested and approved, as trained.

Flexible scheduling to meet patient needs, including potential evening or weekend hours.

Work may be performed in patients’ homes, hospice facilities, or residential care settings.

Must be able to travel within the assigned service area as needed.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.

Valid and current massage therapy license/certification as required by state law.

Minimum of five years of therapeutic massage experience preferred, with experience in hospice, palliative, geriatric, or medical massage settings highly desirable.

Experience working with geriatric and terminally ill populations.

Ability to accept and respect diverse lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.

Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems.

Compassionate, adaptable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
