Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Assistant Director of Finance (ADOF) to assist the Director of Finance in leading the hotel's day-to-day financial and accounting operations.
The ADOF will provide leadership and support across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Income Audit, cash management, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This position will work closely with the Director of Finance, General Manager, department heads, and Finance team to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient financial operations.
Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Finance in leading the daily operations of the Finance and Accounting department.

Oversee Income Audit, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable activities to ensure accuracy and timely completion.

Assist with the monthly financial close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.

Monitor daily cash activity and assist with bank and cash reconciliations.

Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the hotel's annual budget and financial forecasts.

Review actual results versus budget and forecast and communicate significant variances.

Assist with financial analysis and provide information and recommendations to hotel leadership.

Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Work closely with department heads to ensure proper coding, documentation, and timely submission of financial information.

Assist with training, supervising, and developing Finance department team members.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and departmental efficiency.

Support internal and external audits and provide requested financial information.

Act as a key Finance resource for hotel leadership and assist with Finance department operations in the absence of the Director of Finance.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Finance.
Leadership & Department Support
The Assistant Director of Finance will serve as a key member of the hotel's Finance leadership team and will work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and efficient department operations.
The ADOF will take ownership of day-to-day Finance activities, provide direction and support to Finance team members, and keep the Director of Finance informed of significant issues, variances, and outstanding items.
Hospitality Experience
Previous hotel or hospitality accounting experience is strongly preferred. Experience with hotel Income Audit, Rooms and Food & Beverage revenue, PMS/POS systems, AR, AP, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end closing is highly desirable.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

3–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in hospitality.

Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of hotel accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.

Experience with journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Experience with Workday or other financial systems preferred.

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hotel environment.
