Membership Portfolio Services, within our US Consumer Services Business, is responsible for developing and scaling several growing businesses that are strategically important to American Express. We are developing unique and differentiated ways to strengthen the Membership Model by connecting Card Members with Merchants that create opportunities to help drive our growth over the mid-to-long term.
How will you make an impact in this role?
This Senior Analyst position reports to the Director, Product Line Strategy & Partnerships and will support the day-to-day management, performance, and operational execution of Amex Offers' strategic third-party partnerships, including Rakuten, Cardlytics, and the Smart Offers portfolio.
The Senior Analyst will serve as a key operational and technical point of contact for partners, working across Product, Engineering, Operations, Analytics, and other internal teams to identify and resolve issues, support new technology capabilities and integrations, and ensure strong day-to-day execution. The role will support partners in the US and key international markets and work closely with the Senior Manager, Partnerships to deliver against partnership objectives.
The Senior Analyst will own performance management and operational excellence across the partnerships, using data to identify performance drivers and opportunities for improvement. A core responsibility will be troubleshooting operational and technical issues—identifying root causes, coordinating the right internal and external stakeholders, and driving issues through resolution. The role will also support the Senior Manager, Partnerships in identifying opportunities to improve partner and program economics as the portfolio scales.
Responsibilities

Drive operational and technical issue resolution: Serve as a key point of contact for partner issues, working across external partners, Product, Engineering, and Operations to diagnose issues, identify root causes and owners, manage dependencies, and drive issues through resolution

Analyze and improve partner performance: Analyze campaign, merchant, and operational performance to identify key drivers, emerging issues, and opportunities. Translate insights into clear recommendations and actions that improve partner and Amex Offers performance

Support day-to-day partner management: Build strong working relationships with external partners; coordinate recurring partner meetings, performance reviews, and follow-ups; identify opportunities to improve partner performance; and ensure commitments and action items are tracked through completion

Support partner integrations and technology enablement: Develop a strong working understanding of partner APIs, data flows, and integration requirements; translate partner business needs and technical issues for Product and Engineering teams; manage partner dependencies; and support delivery of enhancements and new capabilities

Support partnership governance: Develop a strong understanding of partner contractual and operational requirements and support renewals, amendments, Third Party Lifecycle Management, and other required third-party governance processes

Drive operational excellence: Manage key partner processes including invoicing and reconciliation, merchant and campaign governance, partner reporting, and required approvals; identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce recurring issues, and improve execution
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot ambiguous operational or technical issues, coordinate across multiple stakeholders, establish clear ownership, and drive issues through resolution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze performance data, identify key drivers and root causes, and translate findings into clear recommendations and actions
- Technical aptitude and comfort working with APIs, system integrations, and data flows, with the ability to translate effectively between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and work effectively with both external partners and cross-functional internal teams
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, dependencies, and priorities simultaneously
- High degree of ownership, curiosity, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting external partnerships, clients, or other third-party relationships
- Experience working with APIs, technical integrations, Product, or Engineering teams
- Experience using data to evaluate partner, campaign, or product performance
- Experience in digital advertising, loyalty, payments, merchant-funded offers, or related ecosystems
