The DPD Personnel Services Support employees perform a diverse range of office support, intermediate to advanced level administrative support or technical program assistance in disseminating information for a variety of functions, divisions, or departments for the DPD employees, both sworn and civilian employees.
Essential Functions:

Process new hires, lateral moves, reappointments, reinstatements.

Performs a variety of advanced administrative functions.

Input employee data into the HRIS systems of the organization, including IWM, Workday and Service Now.

Responds to inquiries regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; provides excellent customer service.

Coordinates, organizes, and facilitates meetings for department or division; assists in coordinating work and various projects between units of the department.

Process employee data changes and employment actions such as transfers, promotions, demotions, retirement, resignations and terminations of employment.

Process PARs(Personnel Action Requests ) , both for sworn employees of the DPD and for civilian employees, including updating PARs for special pay transactions. These include typical , promotion and BID PARs.

Conduct payroll processing tasks, including weekly payroll reports , time entry corrections, military leave and returns from leave of absence.

Conduct monthly audits, with the purpose of correcting discrepancies between HRIS systems as IWM and Workday, for personnel actions as follows: merit increases, bases pay changes, education and language pay , detective pay, shift pay , TCOLE pay , communication and service pay.

Assists in the development and implementation of training materials; provides training for subordinate administrative staff to ensure quality and efficiency of work; monitors and ensures all licenses, certifications, and physical paperwork are accurate and up to date.

Review, process and troubleshoot eligibility and time entry for leave of absence , including FMLA , paid parental leave, extended leave and advance sick leave .

Complete other personnel duties as assigned and needed: special projects, verify and give timekeeper access , complete name and address changes , respond to Service Now tickets, schedule appointments for the language pay tests , verify education credits , assist with PARs after large promotion actions, process probation requests
Knowledge and Skills
• Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures.
• Knowledge of customer service techniques to resolve problems and issues.
• Ability to investigate, collect, and analyze information for accuracy, consistency and conformity with established policies.
• Ability to coordinate and train others, as applicable.
• Ability to interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
• Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships.
• General knowledge of police functions, laws, rules, evidence collection and court procedures.
• Knowledge of the functions, laws, rules, and procedures of the specialized Police Department division.
• Must be detail-oriented, be able to identify inaccurate information, and follow up with appropriate action.
• Ability to build rapport with DPD employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years of experience in an administrative role.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Texas Driver's License
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must pass an intensive background investigation and drug test.

No FELONY or Class A MISDEMEANOR convictions.
-
No Class B MISDEMEANOR convictions within the last ten (10) years.
-
No family violence convictions.
-
Cannot currently be on deferred adjudication for any FELONY, Class A, or Class B MISDEMEANOR.
Salary Range
$25.12 - $28.85
The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
