Apple is looking for a Display Electrical Engineer to join the Display team. The engineer must be out-of-box problem solver and will define the next generation display electrical architecture to front of screen performance for a multitude of new display backplanes.

A successful candidate will be able to analyze the circuit performance, propose improvement or compensation based on panel physics, help design qualification and be responsible for high quality engineering specification, analysis, verification and validation along the way. This position requires deep technical strengths in device and panel physics, circuit design, system level design, and display architecture knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Define the display EE architecture and electrical specification to meet performance requirement
  • Build advanced measurement platform for display module calibration and characterization
  • Lead proof-of-concept system design, characterization and bring up
  • Author high quality engineering requirements and specification
  • Take new technology from prototype to mass production
  • Analyze root causes for various production issues related to design, and propose mitigation
  • Participate in cross functional design reviews and address integration concerns
  • Define next generation display electrical roadmap

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Experience with electrical engineering disciplines: analog and mixed signal IC design, system design, semiconductors, TFTs
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools such as HSPICE or Spectre

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS/PhD in a relevant field
  • Excellent written documentation and verbal communication skill
  • Proficient in converting performance requirement to electrical specs
  • Proficient in image processing and computer vision (CV) tools, including Python, MATLAB toolboxes, and C++ libraries
  • Experience in display technology, such as LCD, OLED, plasma, DLP, LCOS, e-paper, etc.
  • Experience with machine learning (ML) and computer vision modeling is a plus

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,300 and $225,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
