Job Posting: Life Enrichment Director Location: Plymouth, MN – Onsite Job Type Full-time, Exempt Department: Activities Reports To: Administrator

Job Summary The Life Enrichment Director will develop and design programs to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation and fulfillment, and improve daily living skills for residents. This position assists with conducting the scheduled activities of the life enrichment department to deliver high-quality programming and services consistent with regulations and established best practices. Conduct consistently reflects the facility’s mission and values.

Qualifications

  • Post high school graduate with certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or related field.
  • 1-2 years prior experience in social or recreation programming in long-term care preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a physical examination and obtain medical clearance to operate facility bus.
  • Must be able to pass a State of Minnesota Department of Human Services criminal background study, as well as a United States Office of the Inspector General exclusion search.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct a comprehensive program of leisure life/life enrichment services for residents, and providing leadership and direction to Life Enrichment staff.

  • Collaborate with residents, families, and staff to develop, plan and implement programs that meet the psychosocial and activities needs of residents.

  • Develop and deploy systems and processes for management of events.

  • Provide life enrichment programs based on resident assessment, needs, interest/preference, regulations and established procedures and best practices.

  • Provide necessary documentation and participate in resident care planning with the team and other health care providers.

  • Maintain resident activity documentation in accordance with regulations and facility policies and procedures.

  • Maintain effective communication systems with all customers.

  • Serve as a life enrichment/leisure resource and advocate for the facility.

  • Treats and ensures that residents are treated with respect and dignity

  • Protects organization’s value by keeping patient information per HIPAA requirements confidential at all times.

  • Immediately reports any suspected abuse or neglect per facility policy

  • Is familiar with fire and disaster regulations and procedures, participates in drills

  • Reports any equipment malfunctions to designated employee, including knowledge of Lockout/Tagout Policy and Procedure.

  • Participates in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Safety Meetings as directed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits: Pay range is between $41,600.00-$54,080.00 per annual based on qualifications, skills, experience, and other relevant factors. Benefits may include medical, dental, 403(b) retirement, life insurance, PTO, and paid holidays, subject to eligibility and company policies.
