Main responsibilities:

Provide effective leadership to plant supervisors and operators by providing clear and direct expectations, leading by example, and creating a culture of accountability

Be able to adapt to a changing environment, generate and implement continuous improvement ideas, and follow-up on action items to ensure timely completion of work
-
Develop and monitor short and long-term strategic plans for both the plant as well as the production department
-
Utilize technology and lean manufacturing principals to optimize production lines for maximum throughput, OEE, and cost per unit

Understand and manage the plant’s bottom line and cost per unit by managing monthly operating costs including labor, supplies, waste, and throughput to monthly and annual budget expectations

Review department performance to expected metric and KPI goals and ensure thorough and accurate data, reporting, and progress on action items

Create performance summaries and reports including but not limited to monthly, quarterly, and reactive presentations, business cases, and one-point lessons

Create and maintain a plant culture and work environment that promotes trust, respect, teamwork quality, and safety.

Maintain a positive plant culture of accountability and ownership by enforcing company policies, plant rules, and expectations in a fair and consistent manner

Coach and mentor direct reports with clear expectations, action plans, development goals, and accountability to ensure conformance to department and plant objectives

Develop a production department with a clear vision, key talent, role redundancy, and training plan to ensure business continuity at all times

Ensure production of a quality product in compliance with Safeway, Federal and State guidelines Ensure regulatory compliance as appropriate (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, Etc.)
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

3 or more years of leadership experience in a production environment

2 or more years working with Lean Manufacturing principles
Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to manage and develop employees.

Ability to interface with regulatory agencies

Pay Transparency:
Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).
