About the job

Our client, a leading aerospace technology company, is hiring a full-time, onsite Full Stack AI Engineer to build AI-powered applications and automation used across the aerospace industry. The role centers on Python, full-stack development, and LLM frameworks such as LangChain and Haystack to create agentic workflows that automate testing and engineering processes. This role is 5 days onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA

This is a true builder role. You will design Generative AI tools and proof-of-concepts from the ground up and watch engineers put them to work. Our client wants a hands-on developer who has built AI solutions, whether professionally or through meaningful personal projects, and who enjoys rapidly prototyping, testing, and iterating. You will explore how emerging GenAI technologies can be applied in safety-critical environments, contribute ideas across multiple projects, and work within a collaborative technology team.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on software development experience
• Full-stack development experience across front end, back end, APIs/integrations, and application logic
• Strong Python skills
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments
• Hands-on experience building and deploying Generative AI applications
• Experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, Haystack, or similar technologies
• Experience developing complex applications or systems from concept through execution

• Practical understanding of AI/ML concepts through professional work, research, or substantial personal development
• Curiosity and a willingness to experiment with emerging AI technologies
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

What You Will Be Doing

Tech Breakdown

• 35% Python back-end services and integrations
• 30% Generative AI and agentic workflows (LangChain, Haystack, or similar)
• 20% Front-end interfaces
• 15% Unix/Linux environments

Daily Responsibilities

• 65% Hands On (building GenAI applications, agentic workflows, and testing automation tools)
• 15% Prototyping and experimenting with emerging GenAI technologies
• 20% Team Collaboration (working with engineers to identify problems AI can solve and providing technical guidance)
