About the job

OUR IMPACT

Transaction Banking Operations supports Goldman Sachs' treasury, cash management and payments offerings for corporate and financial institution clients. The team designs and executes scalable service, operational and control capabilities that protect client and firm assets while enabling business growth. Operations partners closely with Product, Coverage, Digital, Compliance and Engineering across the full client and transaction lifecycle.

TRANSACTION BANKING OPERATIONS AND CLIENT EXPERIENCE TEAMS

Transaction Banking within the Global Banking Markets Division is comprised of the below primary functions:

  • We provide clients with differentiated experience through their pre-sales and go-live journey, generated through seamless onboarding, implementation and testing, and post go live support

  • We provide best in class service to our clients post-go-live across all their business Treasury needs, including payments and transaction flows across our global payment rails

  • We support the building and development of new Treasury Products, Services and Partnerships, alongside Product, Risk and Engineering teams, by handling all Operational processes, procedures and control development

TxB Operations is a growing sub-division, with regional presence in Singapore, Bengaluru, London, New York, Amsterdam, and Dallas. All offices work closely together as a single global team.

YOUR IMPACT

The Client Implementation team is seeking a seasoned and driven individual with experience and expertise working on complex client implementations in a commercial / transaction banking domain. This role provides the opportunity to create a world-class client experience with direct contribution to the business’ top line.

This position follows the Implementation Advisory concentration. Alongside the core responsibilities of a Client Implementation Vice President, you will be engaged early — before mandate — to assess complexity, shape the client solution alongside Coverage and Product Solutions, and bring implementation credibility into the commercial conversation. You will then carry that solution through go-live and remain the client’s named owner through hyper-care and ramp, transitioning to Client Service through a structured handover.

You will work with clients across their front to back journey — from participating in RFPs, to managing complex technical integrations and successful go-lives owning and driving all aspects of a client implementation across the TxB suite of products and services.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead a differentiated client experience throughout the implementation journey by providing implementation subject matter expertise across transaction banking products and services, while advising clients on solutions for their Treasury requirements

  • Unblock implementation challenges that may arise for a client; be creative with problem solving and collaborating across internal teams to mitigate

  • Build and manage detailed project plans capturing all intricate aspects of go-live, while also leveraging project management materials such as client meeting agendas/minutes, and project charter

  • Serve as a product subject matter expert across the team, leading complex global client implementations

  • Keen acumen on risk and controls, processes and procedures, to ensure we deliver value to our clients in a robust and compliant manner

  • Establish effective communication channels and governance, both with client as well as internal stakeholders, to ensure transparency on status, blockers, milestones — driving accountability and clarity across all parties

  • Work closely with servicing teams as the client goes live, through early-stage support, ensuring a seamless transition for the client as they move from a pre-go-live to business-as-usual mode

  • Bring thought leadership to implementation processes, by identifying ways to streamline and automate, resulting in reduction of waste (or non-value-added activities)

  • Train, lead and develop junior talent across the global team

Implementation Advisory concentration

  • Engage pre-mandate alongside Coverage and Product Solutions to assess client complexity and set realistic implementation timelines, scope and effort expectations before commitments are made

  • Bring implementation credibility into the commercial conversation — contributing to client RFPs, proposals and early solutioning, ensuring what is promised pre-mandate is deliverable post-mandate

  • Own the Solutioning Questionnaire standard across the team, leading and documenting product solutioning as the trusted advisor to clients and internal partners

  • Act as named advisor on strategic and complex client deals, including multi-product, multi-region and financial institution integrations

  • Identify and escalate non-standard flows, manual processes and first-time payment solutions before they are priced, promised or built

  • Retain named client ownership through hyper-care and ramp, using client health reporting to monitor activity against expectation, and execute a structured, documented exit to Client Service

  • Set the standard for client-facing implementation communication across the global team, and coach Associates and Senior Associates toward client advisory readiness

  • Represent the firm onsite with clients where commercially reasonable and beneficial — for example, solutioning workshops, onsite development and testing support, or go-live readiness sessions. Limited client travel may arise, typically infrequent and planned

Leading with Innovation and AI

  • Apply AI tooling across the implementation lifecycle — solutioning research, project plan generation, client documentation, pipeline reporting and meeting summarization — and convert proven use cases into adopted team practice

  • Lead with innovation by challenging the status quo in how we implement today, identifying where manual effort, repeated client questions or non-standard handling signal an opportunity to automate, digitize or enable client self-service

  • Champion adoption across the global team, sharing practical AI use cases in team forums and mentoring colleagues from experimentation into confident, everyday application

  • Bring the client voice into product and platform innovation, translating recurring implementation friction into a prioritized, evidenced case for enhancement with Product, Delivery and Engineering

  • Measure and articulate the benefit of innovation delivered — cycle time, effort saved, client experience improvement — so adoption is grounded in outcome rather than novelty

  • Apply AI and automation thoughtfully, with clear judgment on where human review, control and client accountability must remain

HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED

  • Pre-mandate engagement achieved on all assigned priority deals

  • Solutioning Questionnaire complete and agreed at mandate on every owned implementation

  • Go-Live Readiness Checklist completed and signed off ahead of every go-live

  • No post go-live client escalations attributable to solution design error

  • Ramp exits to Client Service completed within the agreed window

  • Implementation cycle time delivered within the complexity band committed at mandate

  • Demonstrable advisory value evidenced through client or Coverage feedback

  • AI or automation use cases piloted and adopted within the team, with measured efficiency benefit

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree

  • 8+ years of banking industry experience, 6+ years in a client-facing role

  • Established expertise in Transaction Banking client implementation function, with deep knowledge of banking products and services

  • Working knowledge of ERP and TMS systems and host to host connectivity mechanisms in the market

  • Solid project management skills, with innate ability to create organization and structure

  • Process oriented thinker, with the ability to simplify and streamline complex processes

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; enjoys forming deep relationships with internal partners and clients

  • Thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment, with a passion to learn at exponential pace

  • Willingness to travel to client sites on a limited, occasional basis

Preferred for the Implementation Advisory concentration

  • Demonstrated client-facing presence in solutioning or pre-sales settings, with the judgment to shape — and where necessary challenge — a proposed solution

  • Commercial awareness is sufficient to right-size an implementation approach to client complexity and decline an undeliverable commitment

  • Track record of independently owning high complexity implementations end-to-end with clean readiness sign-off

  • Curiosity and fluency with emerging AI and automation tooling, with a track record of turning experimentation into practical, adopted ways of working

  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)
