About the job
The Cloud Infrastructure team develops the tooling, services, and deployment workflows used to build and support NetSuite’s infrastructure in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). We turn infrastructure requirements and operational processes into reliable, repeatable, and testable automation.
In this role, you will independently deliver components of our infrastructure tooling and collaborate on broader technical designs. You will integrate with cloud services and improve how infrastructure is provisioned, updated, maintained, and supported across regions. You will work with engineering and operations teams to understand their requirements, reduce manual work, and make infrastructure easier to deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain.
This role does not include an on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications and Skills
-
Experience developing, testing, and maintaining software in at least one programming language, such as Python or Java.
-
Practical experience with infrastructure as code, including reviewing proposed changes, managing dependencies and state, and diagnosing deployment failures.
-
Experience provisioning or managing infrastructure in a cloud environment, with an understanding of compute, networking, storage, and identity and access controls.
-
Experience integrating with APIs and handling failures in services or automation that depend on external systems.
-
Experience with source control, code review, automated testing, and continuous integration and delivery workflows.
-
Ability to troubleshoot problems across Linux, networking, storage, cloud APIs, and application code using logs, metrics, and other evidence.
-
Ability to independently deliver a defined component or feature, work through ambiguous requirements, and seek input or escalate when complexity or risk warrants it.
-
Clear communication skills and experience collaborating with engineering or operations teams to understand requirements and support adoption.
-
Ability to write maintainable code and evaluate technical choices against reliability, security, and operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
-
Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure; experience with other major cloud platforms is also relevant.
-
Experience developing reusable Terraform or OpenTofu modules and infrastructure deployment workflows.
-
Experience building internal tooling, APIs, or self-service capabilities used by other engineering teams.
-
Experience with distributed infrastructure automation across regions, including concurrency, long-running operations, and recovery from partial failures.
-
Experience applying least-privilege access, secure credential handling, and auditability to infrastructure tooling.
-
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
-
Design, implement, test, and maintain software, APIs, and automation for provisioning, configuring, and managing cloud infrastructure.
-
Develop reusable infrastructure-as-code components and workflows that produce consistent, reviewable changes across environments.
-
Integrate with cloud APIs and internal services, handling authentication, asynchronous operations, retries, and partial failures.
-
Build validation and delivery pipelines that support controlled infrastructure changes, maintenance, and recovery when changes fail.
-
Add monitoring, logging, and diagnostic capabilities to make infrastructure tooling reliable and supportable.
-
Investigate failures in automation and the infrastructure it manages; implement improvements that prevent recurring problems.
-
Translate requirements from engineering and operations teams into technical designs and usable tooling; communicate tradeoffs, progress, and risks.
-
Participate in code reviews and maintain documentation, runbooks, and examples that help other teams use the tooling.
