EY helps utilities organizations transform their operations through innovative SAP solutions that improve efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and support regulatory compliance. We work with clients across the utility value chain, helping them navigate complex business and technology transformations from strategy through execution.
We are seeking an SAP IS-U Reporting and Analytics Manager to lead the reporting and analytics workstream across SAP IS-U and the selected analytics platform. In this role, you will own business alignment, solution direction, governance, and delivery; establish a coherent reporting approach; and drive trusted data, user adoption, and team performance. You will collaborate with business, functional, data, security, and program stakeholders to align reporting outcomes with operational, enterprise, and regulatory needs.
Your key responsibilities
As a Manager in Technology Analysis, you will lead reporting and analytics workstreams within complex utility transformation programs, providing functional leadership from discovery through deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include:
-
Owning reporting and analytics scope, delivery governance, prioritization, and outcomes from discovery through deployment and adoption.
-
Defining the reporting approach across SAP IS-U operational reporting, enterprise analytics, regulatory needs, and the approved data platform.
-
Establishing governance for KPI definitions, report ownership, data lineage, reconciliations, access, retention, and change control.
-
Leading report rationalization and prioritization with business stakeholders, resolving competing definitions, and aligning measures with process owners.
-
Directing collaboration among functional subject-matter resources, data engineers, analytics developers, security teams, and business stakeholders, and reviewing critical designs.
-
Setting quality and testing standards for reporting logic, totals, performance, security, and source-to-report reconciliation, while owning readiness and issue escalation.
-
Managing team capacity, dependencies, risks, scope, and communications, and presenting decisions and progress to program leadership.
-
Driving rollout, user adoption, training, support handoff, and continuous improvement based on operational feedback.
-
Building trusted relationships with client stakeholders and providing guidance on reporting strategy, analytics governance, solution decisions, and transformation priorities.
Skills and attributes for success
To thrive in this role, you will need a blend of functional, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Your ability to establish reporting governance, build stakeholder alignment, and communicate effectively will be crucial in delivering exceptional client service.
-
Deep understanding of SAP IS-U reporting and analytics across utility business processes and the meter-to-cash lifecycle.
-
Ability to define a coherent reporting approach across operational reporting, enterprise analytics, regulatory needs, and approved data platforms.
-
Strong understanding of KPI governance, data lineage, reconciliation, data-quality controls, security, retention, and change control.
-
Proven ability to lead complex SAP transformation initiatives and client-facing engagements.
-
Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, planning, and decision-making skills.
-
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage dependencies across business, functional, data, analytics, security, and technical workstreams.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate reporting priorities, data issues, and solution decisions to business and technology stakeholders.
To qualify for the role, you must have
-
A bachelor’s degree.
-
Typically, no less than 4 - 6 years of SAP IS-U or SAP Utilities experience, including substantial expertise in the relevant functional area and 3 or more years leading a workstream or team.
-
Proven ownership of functional solution design and delivery through implementation, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
-
Experience leading cross-functional teams, managing dependencies and risks, and making decisions with business and technology stakeholders.
-
Strong leadership, communication, planning, and stakeholder-management skills.
-
Ability to balance business outcomes, solution quality, delivery constraints, and operational readiness.
-
Proven ownership of reporting solution design and delivery across business functions, data sources, and stakeholder groups.
-
Extensive understanding of enterprise data platform impacts and implementing solutions for SAP S/4HANA Utilities, SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SAP Datasphere.
-
Experience defining KPI and report governance, data-quality controls, security, reconciliation, testing, and adoption.
-
A flexibility and willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 40-60%.
Ideally, you’ll also have
-
Prior consulting experience.
-
Exposure to utility regulatory or market reporting, meter-to-cash KPIs, operational dashboards, or data lineage and governance.
-
Experience with report rationalization, analytics adoption, user training, and support transition within large-scale utility transformation programs.
-
Experience leading cross-functional utility transformation programs.
