The Role

The AWS Kubernetes Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, securing, and operating the AWS-based platform that powers Hyatt’s enterprise Kubernetes, AI and ML ecosystem. This role focuses on systems reliability, cloud governance, observability, cost optimization, and integrations—enabling Hyatt’s Systems Engineering team to deploy AWS & Kubernetes Infrastructure efficiently and securely at scale. You will serve as a technical owner of AWS & Kubernetes infrastructure, ensuring that environments, pipelines, and integrations are robust, compliant, and cost-effective across the organization.

·       Optimize compute, storage, and networking costs, using AWS Budgets, Cost Explorer, and tagging strategies.

·       Maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and EKS platform components.

·       Automate environment provisioning, policy enforcement, and validation through infrastructure testing and continuous delivery.

·       Integrate security, compliance, and performance checks into the deployment workflow.

·       Design and manage network connectivity and data flows between internal systems and external systems or SaaS platforms.

·       Partner with enterprise architects and platform engineers to guide solution design for new initiatives, ensuring scalability and maintainability.

·       Stay current on AWS service evolution and EKS infrastructure trends to continuously improve platform capabilities.

Experience Required: ****

·       5+ years managing large-scale AWS environments, ideally supporting kubernetes, data or ML workloads.

·       Proven expertise in cloud administration, security, networking, and DevOps automation.

·       Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and monitoring frameworks.
