About the job

Shape how data is understood, trusted, and used across consumer banking by improving metadata quality, reporting, and workflow adoption. You will partner across product, controls, data ownership, and technology to help teams find the right data, understand it, and manage change with confidence. This is an opportunity to influence governance strategy while delivering practical solutions that improve transparency and decision-making.

As a Data Governance Lead at JPMorganChase within the Data Catalog Governance team, you will own key reporting and insights that monitor metadata change management and quality. You will collaborate with technology partners to close functional gaps and improve reconciliation, and you will help teams adopt consistent practices across data lineage and data contracts. You will communicate clearly to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, and help prioritize work that improves outcomes for customers and the business.

Job responsibilities

  • Execute reporting for metadata change volume, closure, and aging; synthesize insights and communicate trends to stakeholders

  • Monitor metadata quality and workflow health, identifying risks and opportunities to improve execution and transparency

  • Partner with technology teams to remediate functional gaps and reconciliation issues in the data catalog

  • Manage intake of functional requirements across demand channels; clarify needs, document outcomes, and track delivery

  • Build strong working relationships with controls partners, product teams, data owners, and technology stakeholders

  • Provide structured problem-solving and clear recommendations to support tactical fixes and long-term improvements

  • Support cross-functional efforts for data lineage and data contracts through coordination, standards alignment, and adoption support

  • Create clear, executive-ready materials that translate data into actions and decisions

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Formal training or certification in data governance, data analytics, risk, controls, compliance, or a related discipline

  • 5+ years of applied experience in data governance, data analytics, data lineage, risk, controls, or compliance

  • Advanced skills in SQL and Python for analysis, automation, and reporting

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint, including strong data storytelling and executive communication

  • Experience with Alteryx for data preparation and workflow automation

  • Intermediate skills in Tableau to build and maintain insightful dashboards and visualizations

  • Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts and familiarity with common Artificial Intelligence tools

  • Experience working in Amazon Web Services environments, including collaborating with engineering teams on data platforms

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across functions and manage multiple priorities

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Management, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field

  • Experience with Databricks and Snowflake in enterprise analytics or data engineering contexts

  • Knowledge of consumer banking products and systems, and understanding of relevant regulatory requirements

  • Experience partnering with JPMorganChase technology teams in analyst, risk, or technical roles

  • Experience improving metadata controls, workflow adoption, and data quality operating practices at scale
