In this position, you will support the Environmental Resources Management Office’s GIS program under the supervision of the GIS Manager. You will utilize advanced GIS software to create, maintain, and analyze spatial data, ensuring results are arranged in a format that effectively supports the organization’s activities. This role offers a unique mix of technical office work—such as database compilation and spatial analysis—and active support for field data collection. Principal Duties Responsibilities As a GIS Analyst, your day-to-day tasks will include: Product Creation: Formatting and generating a variety of GIS products, including standard and custom maps, templates, shapefiles, tables, and reports. Data Management: Extracting, organizing, and performing quality control on data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Analysis Maintenance: Querying and analyzing spatial data, maintaining geospatial databases, and converting non-GIS information into GIS formats. Field Support: Facilitating field data collection and supporting the standardization of department-collected data layers. Process Improvement: Developing and testing GIS applications to meet customer needs and improving quality control processes for spatial data.
