About the job

About the Role

We're hiring an AI Web Platform Lead to modernize how our web platform is architected, authored, and operated: from information architecture built for both humans and AI answer engines, to CMS workflows that move ideas from AI-generated prototype to production experiment in days, not quarters.

This is a hybrid strategist-builder role. You'll sit at the intersection of marketing, design, technology, engineering, and web production — owning the platform-level decisions that determine how fast and how well our web experiences ship.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Information Architecture & GEO/AEO

  • Lead the global navigation and IA revamp across QuickBooks.com, optimizing for two audiences simultaneously: ICP-based human navigability and answer-engine (AEO/GEO) citability

  • Define IA standards, including structured data, content hierarchy, and page architecture that AI systems can parse and cite, and validate against SEO, channel data to optimize for humans and agents alike.

  • Partner with SEO/GEO and site strategy teams to translate zero-click search dynamics into structural site decisions.

CMS Modernization & AI-Connected Workflows

  • Map current-state workflows and design the future-state: AI-connected authoring, review, and publishing pipelines within the CMS

  • Build the bridge from vibe-coded prototypes to production — establishing the pathway that takes AI-generated concepts through design system compliance, QA, and rapid experimentation rollout

  • Actively evaluate CMS platforms and adjacent tooling (headless options, MCP/API-driven authoring, personalization integration) and drive the assessment with a clear build/buy/migrate recommendation

  • Define what 'AI-native content operations' means for the org and sequence the migration

Design System & Platform Health

  • Partner with design, brand, engineering, and web production to document and govern the design system — component library, usage standards, and contribution model

  • Own measurement and tracking of Core Web Vitals and site health, establishing baselines, budgets, and accountability across teams

  • Instrument the platform so experimentation velocity and site performance are visible, measurable, and improving

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years across web platform, marketing technology, or digital experience roles, with hands-on depth in CMS architecture (headless/composable experience preferred)

  • Demonstrated fluency with AI-assisted development workflows — prompt-to-prototype tooling, LLM-integrated authoring, agentic pipelines — and strong judgment about where AI accelerates vs. degrades quality

  • Working knowledge of AEO/GEO principles: structured data, semantic HTML, crawlability, and how answer engines select citation sources

  • Experience documenting or governing design systems in partnership with design and engineering

  • Technical credibility: comfortable reading code, evaluating APIs, and pressure-testing engineering estimates; not required to ship production code daily

  • Proven ability to run a from→to transformation: current-state mapping, future-state design, migration sequencing, and stakeholder alignment

  • Hands-on CRO and experimentation experience: hypothesis design, test prioritization, and reading results with statistical discipline — ideally on high-traffic acquisition surfaces or free/freemium products

  • Strong communication skills — you can distill the complex into simplicity, and bring along others for the ride.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with experimentation platforms (Adobe Target, Optimizely) and CDP-driven personalization

  • Familiarity with Core Web Vitals optimization at enterprise scale

  • Prior work in freemium or PLG contexts where web is a primary acquisition surface
