About the job

“Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It’s the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something.”

You'll work across the full development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, release, and production support. Working closely with carrier partners and cross-functional teams, you'll help deliver reliable, seamless experiences for customers around the world.

  • Integrate with carrier systems and internal Apple platforms, translating carrier requirements into reliable, well-documented solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, using logs and monitoring to find root causes and prevent them from recurring
  • Improve the performance, reliability and maintainability of existing services, including order, pricing and fulfillment flows
  • Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, program managers and carrier partners to define requirements and deliver on schedule
  • Review code and contribute to design discussions, helping set engineering standards and mentor teammates
  • Write and maintain automated tests, documentation and runbooks so services stay easy to operate and support

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years proven experience with Java, including proficiency in concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization techniques
  • Experience building production applications with the Spring ecosystem (e.g. Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring Cloud, etc.), including proficiency in dependency injection, auto-configuration, reactive programming with WebFlux, and designing microservices using Spring-based patterns
  • Experience in API design and implementation, including proficiency in RESTful API principles, gRPC, GraphQL, contract-first design (e.g. OpenAPI/Swagger, Protobuf, etc.), API versioning strategies, gateway patterns, rate limiting, and designing APIs for backward compatibility and long-term evolution
  • Experience with message-driven and event-driven architectures, including proficiency in messaging systems (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, etc.), event sourcing, CQRS patterns, and designing reliable asynchronous communication between distributed services
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using relational (e.g. Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, etc.) and NoSQL (e.g. Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.) databases, including proficiency in schema design, query optimization, performance tuning (e.g. execution plan analysis, indexing strategy, and query rewriting)
  • Solid knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and infrastructure (e.g. HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, CDN, load balancing, edge computing, DNS, Zero Trust architecture, etc.)
  • Experience implementing authentication and authorization systems, including proficiency in identity protocols (e.g. OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, JWT, etc.), single sign-on (SSO) architectures, role-based and attribute-based access control (RBAC/ABAC), and integration with identity providers and directory services
  • Comfortable using CI/CD tools to build, test, deploy, and release containerized software applications on cloud-based Kubernetes (e.g. AWS EKS, GCP GKE, Azure AKS, etc.)
  • Experience with caching strategies and in-memory data technologies (e.g. Redis, Memcached, Hazelcast, Ehcache, etc.), including proficiency in cache invalidation patterns, distributed caching architectures, and session management for high-throughput applications
