KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead assigned environmental compliance programs, including:

· Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)

· NSPS Subpart QQQ Compliance

· Utah Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (UPDES)

· Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)

· Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Program

· South Davis Sewer District (SDSD) Compliance

· Environmental Remediation Programs

· Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Compliance

Responsibilities include:

· Lead implementation and continuous improvement of assigned programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and permit requirements.

· Develop strategies, monitoring plans, procedures, and management tools that support effective program execution and long-term compliance performance.

· Evaluate regulatory requirements, interpret permit obligations, and provide technical guidance to Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and ESH personnel.

· Coordinate environmental inspections, audits, regulatory reporting, and agency interactions associated with assigned programs.

· Direct contractor, consultant, and environmental service provider activities, including review of technical work products, data, reports, and recommendations.

· Analyze environmental data, metrics, and performance trends to identify risks, optimize program effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

· Lead investigations associated with environmental incidents, permit deviations, and compliance events, including root cause analysis and corrective action development.

· Prepare and review regulatory reports, technical evaluations, permit applications, and environmental documentation.

· Develop and deliver environmental training to strengthen organizational understanding of environmental requirements and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three (3) or more years of environmental compliance experience in refining, petrochemical, manufacturing, power generation, or other regulated industrial operations. Experience supporting environmental compliance programs, regulatory reporting, audits, inspections, and regulatory agency interactions. Refining or petrochemical industry experience preferred.

Skills: Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance programs including RCRA, Clean Water Act programs, UPDES, SWPPP, SPCC, TSCA, remediation programs, and applicable federal air regulations. Ability to lead assigned environmental compliance programs and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong analytical, problem-solving, investigation, and technical writing skills. Experience developing procedures, training materials, compliance systems, and performance metrics. Ability to interpret environmental data, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Direct contractor, consultant and environmental service provider activities to include development of clear scope of work, review of their technical work products, data, reports, and recommendations, and oversight of program budgets, purchase orders, invoices and expenditures to support cost effective compliance outcomes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with operations personnel, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Work Environment:

Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights, and navigate uneven surfaces in an operating refinery environment. Required to wear PPE including FRC clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection. May be required to wear respiratory protection and personal gas monitors (H2S, LEL). Must be able to work in outdoor conditions including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
