About the job

Oracle Hardware Division is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer and Technical Program Manager to lead GPU and CPU server platform development and implementation in collaboration with external manufacturers and NVIDIA and AMD engineering teams.

This role combines hardware systems engineering expertise with technical program management responsibilities, supporting complex server hardware products from development through validation and production delivery.

In this role, you will:

  • Apply GPU and CPU system engineering expertise to hardware integration, validation, and production readiness.
  • Lead assigned hardware development programs, coordinating engineering requirements, schedules, technical dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Oracle hardware, software, and cloud engineering teams, GPU and CPU suppliers, and external manufacturing partners.
  • Drive cross-functional engineering execution through technical credibility, collaboration, and influence.
  • Work autonomously on moderately complex assignments, leading projects and processes that contribute to team and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Hardware Engineering & System Integration

  • Own assigned GPU system development plans from engineering requirements through qualification and production readiness.
  • Evaluate hardware and software integration across GPU and CPU platforms, including firmware, drivers, and baseboard management controllers (BMC).
  • Apply hardware systems engineering knowledge to identify technical dependencies, integration challenges, and potential risks.
  • Work with NVIDIA, AMD, external manufacturers, and Oracle engineering teams to investigate technical issues using vendor validation tools, engineering logs, and test results.
  • Coordinate internal and external testing to ensure hardware products are validated against agreed requirements before customer release.
  • Review validation results, document readiness evidence, and drive resolution of quality and delivery issues.

Technical Program Management & Execution

  • Lead assigned hardware development programs, coordinating requirements, schedules, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables across engineering teams and external partners.
  • Translate internal customer needs into engineering requirements and actionable program plans.
  • Align supplier priorities, engineering schedules, and development activities with product delivery objectives.
  • Coordinate hardware development through engineering validation, design validation, production validation, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Track program execution against schedules, technical milestones, quality requirements, and budget constraints.
  • Anticipate and mitigate technical and program risks, manage changes through established review processes, and escalate issues beyond delegated authority.
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs and alternative approaches, considering quality, schedule, and cost implications.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with Oracle hardware, software, and cloud engineering teams, GPU and CPU suppliers, and joint design manufacturers to coordinate engineering activities.
  • Build relationships across lines of business and with external partners and leadership.
  • Communicate technical trade-offs, program risks, progress, milestones, and next steps to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations to support management decisions affecting assigned products and programs.
  • Prepare technical reports, program updates, and executive briefings, including senior leadership and SVP reviews when required.
  • Drive alignment and issue resolution across engineering teams and external partners without direct reporting authority.

Engineering Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead cross-functional engineering and program activities through technical credibility, collaboration, and influence.
  • Apply independent judgment to resolve moderately complex hardware systems and program challenges involving multiple variables and potential outcomes.
  • Identify and implement improvements in hardware validation, system integration, and technical program execution.
  • Seek diverse viewpoints, mentor junior colleagues, and provide task oversight to improve team capability and execution.
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, and temporary staff as required.
  • Contribute to functional and business goals within and, when needed, beyond the immediate team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, with relevant education and experience.
  • Typically 12+ years of relevant experience in hardware engineering, systems engineering, technical program management, or related disciplines, assessed with applicable education.

  • Practical experience taking hardware systems through development, integration, validation, and production readiness.
  • Experience integrating hardware and software, applying vendor validation tools, interpreting engineering logs, and working with external manufacturers.
  • Experience coordinating technical programs, engineering schedules, cross-functional dependencies, and product development milestones.
  • Strong understanding of GPU and CPU system integration, including firmware, drivers, and BMC functionality.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical issues, identify risks, and drive engineering and program decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, evidence-based problem-solving abilities, and effective collaboration without direct authority.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and delivery conditions through disciplined review, escalation, and follow-through.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical knowledge of NVIDIA and AMD GPU and CPU platforms and architectures.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional hardware development programs involving internal engineering teams, suppliers, and external manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with hardware new product introduction (NPI), including engineering validation, design validation, production validation, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Experience managing engineering requirements, schedules, dependencies, quality, risk, and budget considerations across multiple organizations.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, program updates, and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, mentor colleagues, and improve hardware validation, integration, and program execution processes.
