Solutions for Defense include enterprise and mission IT, large-scale intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support. Our team is solving the world’s toughest security challenges for customers with “can’t fail” missions.

Leidos Defense is seeking a Systems Engineer/ Risk Manager to join a matrixed organization of systems engineers, model-based systems engineers, and specialty systems engineers. This Systems Engineer will primarily perform Risk Management and will work in a matrixed organization, which supports one to multiple programs simultaneously across a variety of engineering fields and team environments.

The Risk Manager will lead the development and maintenance of the risk register, working directly with engineers and program management to identify, assess, and mitigate system and program risks. The Risk Manager coordinates with risk owners to ensure risks are current and accurate, and is responsible for leading the Risk Review Board, which engages both internal and external stakeholders. The risk register is then translated into a Risk Management Status Report and delivered quarterly to customers and leadership.

When current efforts conclude, the Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to support different programs within the matrixed engineering portfolio. Candidates with experience in other systems engineering areas such as Lead Systems Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering, and Reliability Analysis will be treated preferentially. However, this position minimally requires a strong background in traditional Systems Engineering and Risk Management, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
