The Senior Vice President, Enterprise Relationship Management & Strategic Provider Partnerships leads the strategy, governance, and execution of UnitedHealthcare's most strategic provider and health-system relationships. This executive aligns UnitedHealthcare, Optum, and functional teams to strengthen partnerships and advance growth, affordability, access, quality, innovation, and enterprise priorities. The role also shapes the future-state ERM operating model and uses technology, analytics, and AI to improve relationship intelligence, accountability, and execution.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
Enterprise Relationship and Market Leadership
- Serve as executive sponsor and senior relationship leader for the organization's most strategic provider, health-systems
- Build trusted relationships with provider executives and align internal leaders around shared priorities, commitments, and long-term partnership opportunities
- Create executive engagement strategies and forums that accelerate decisions, resolve complex issues, and strengthen relationship durability
- Influence cross-functional leaders across Network, Clinical, O&E, Finance, and other teams
ERM Strategy, Governance and Operating Model
- Lead the evolution of the ERM strategy, operating model, governance, relationship ownership, decision rights, commitment tracking, and escalation processes
- Establish consistent operating standards, performance expectations, and best practices across markets and business segments
- Define internal relationship-health and business-impact measures and incorporate external partner feedback where appropriate
- Build scalable capabilities that improve relationships, visibility, coordination and accountability across UnitedHealthcare and relevant enterprise partners
Strategic Growth, Affordability and Partnership Development
- Identify and advance opportunities that create mutual value for UnitedHealthcare and strategic partners
- Leverage strategic relationships to advance affordability, access, quality, growth, total cost of care, and differentiated partnership opportunities across applicable lines of business
- Align enterprise provider strategies with market priorities, emerging risks, and long-range business plans
- Support innovative partnership models that improve healthcare quality, affordability, and consumer experience
Technology, Analytics and AI Enablement
- Define and champion the ERM technology, analytics, AI, and relationship-intelligence strategy
- Use digital workflows and data-driven insights to strengthen relationship health, identify opportunities and risks, and improve executive decision-making
- Partner with technology and business leaders to operationalize scalable ERM capabilities
Executive and Organizational Leadership
- Serve as a member of the UnitedHealthcare Networks Senior Leadership Team and represent the organization in executive, industry, and provider forums
- Lead, develop, and inspire high-performing teams while defining the talent profiles and capabilities required for future relationship management roles

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Strategy, or a related field

10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, provider strategy, network management, enterprise partnerships, relationship management, or business development

Demonstrated success managing complex provider, health-system, or strategic-partner relationships at an executive level

Experience leading large-scale strategic initiatives and organizational transformation across highly matrixed organizations

Proven ability to influence executive leaders, build consensus, and drive enterprise-wide outcomes without direct authority

Solid understanding of provider economics, healthcare delivery systems, value-based care models, and market dynamics

Superior communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and executive-influencing skills

Digital, data, and AI fluency, including practical application of analytics, workflow tools, and AI solutions to improve decisions and outcomes

Ability to travel as business needs require
Preferred Qualifications:

MBA, MHA, MPH, or other advanced degree

Experience operating within a large, highly matrixed healthcare organization, managed care organization, or diversified healthcare enterprise

Experience leading enterprise relationship management, strategic partnerships, network strategy, or provider engagement functions

Experience implementing governance models, operating frameworks, and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives

Demonstrated ability to improve affordability, quality, provider experience, and growth outcomes through strategic partnerships

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $225,000-$375,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
