About the job

Help shape how a global financial firm plans for the future. In this role, you will translate economic data and market developments into scenarios that inform high-impact decisions across the firm. You will combine rigorous analysis with clear storytelling for senior stakeholders. You will also help us modernize how we work by using automation and generative artificial intelligence to make forecasting more scalable and controlled.

As an Associate in Firmwide Economic Scenarios within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, you will help design macroeconomic scenarios and produce forecasts that support planning, stress testing, and credit loss estimation across JPMorganChase. You will take meaningful ownership of housing and real estate variables, bringing strong economic intuition and disciplined analytical methods to each scenario. You will work closely with partners across Economics and Strategy Research, Risk, Finance, and other corporate functions to ensure our scenarios are well-grounded, consistent, and clearly communicated. You will also help us strengthen our forecasting process by improving tools, documentation, and automation so our work is faster, more robust, and more scalable.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead housing and real estate forecasts across key variables

  • Conduct ad hoc economic research and analysis to address stakeholder questions and emerging topics
  • Partner with quantitative model development teams to build and enhance forecasting methodologies, including housing and real estate models
  • Execute process improvements by streamlining manual workflows and strengthening controls and consistency
  • Apply generative artificial intelligence and automation approaches to improve efficiency, scalability, and repeatability of analyses
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and materials for senior management and internal partners
  • Manage multiple workstreams and time-sensitive requests while delivering accurate outputs on agreed timelines

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Real Estate Finance, or a related field
  • Experience in economic research, forecasting, or analytics within a financial institution, central bank, consultancy, or similar environment
  • Working knowledge of housing and real estate economics, including price drivers, mortgage markets, and links to credit conditions and the broader economy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, forecasting support, and presentation-ready outputs
  • Programming experience in Python or R for data analysis, automation, or model support
  • Experience using generative artificial intelligence tools to improve analysis, productivity, or workflow efficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex results to senior audiences
  • High attention to detail, with a consistent focus on accuracy, clarity, and well-controlled outputs
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience supporting regulatory stress testing and capital planning scenario design, and/or current expected credit loss scenario design
  • Experience forecasting or analyzing macroeconomic and financial variables using econometric or statistical methods
  • Hands-on experience building automated workflows or artificial-intelligence-enabled tools (for example, data pipelines or large language model solutions)
