The opportunity

The Senior Manager, STAAR Solution PMO will lead strategic program management across the Strategic Transaction Advisory and Accounting & Reporting (STAAR) solution, one of the four FAAS solution clusters. You will establish governance, planning, reporting and execution disciplines for complex transaction and accounting initiatives, including M&A integration, carve-outs, SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company) and de-SPAC transactions, and IPO and public-company reporting readiness. You will partner with STAAR leadership, FAAS, Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) and other stakeholders to keep multi-workstream programs on track from planning through Day 1 and stabilization, and to grow STAAR capabilities and go-to-market efforts.

Your key responsibilities

M&A, carve-out, SPAC and accounting & reporting execution

  • Lead PMO activities for M&A integration programs, from signing through close, Day 1 readiness and post-close stabilization

  • Lead M&A integration activities focused on process design and synergy capture, partnering with EY-Parthenon (EYP) teams on a growing number of joint projects; these activities do not require CPA-level accounting knowledge

  • Support carve-out and divestiture programs, including separation planning, standalone readiness, transition services agreement (TSA) tracking and Day 1 / Day 100 plans

  • Support SPAC clients and targets through IPO readiness, de-SPAC merger execution and public-company readiness

  • Oversee transaction accounting and financial reporting workstreams, including purchase accounting, opening balance sheet and financial close, aligned to deal and filing timelines

  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams (finance, accounting, tax, technology, HR, legal and operations) against deal milestones

  • Manage cutover readiness, quality gates and go-live governance, and hand off to steady-state operations with clear readiness criteria and checklists

Client and stakeholder partnership

  • Understand client objectives, lead engagements and engage clients regularly on progress, risks and escalations

  • Drive structured change management, communications and adoption to enable smooth delivery and operational readiness

STAAR solution and team leadership

  • Build relationships with the STAAR leader and sub-solution leaders and help move solutions and related components forward

  • Develop a deep understanding of how STAAR and FAAS team with TAS and the other FAAS solution clusters, and support enablement, go-to-market efforts and ad hoc solution requests

  • Coach and develop team members and foster an efficient, innovative and team-oriented work environment

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deal timelines

  • Excellent stakeholder management, organizational and communication skills (verbal and written in English), with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, drive operational efficiency, and work across borders and functional areas

  • Dedicated, innovative and resourceful, with a strong drive to excel professionally

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Project Management or a related field

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in consulting or professional services, in PMO, program management or transaction-related work

  • Experience leading or supporting PMO or IMO activities for M&A integrations, carve-outs or other complex transactions, and familiarity with transaction accounting and financial reporting

  • Strong understanding of program governance frameworks and project management methodologies, with demonstrated PMO leadership across complex, multi-workstream initiatives

  • Experience driving change management and operational readiness

Ideally, you will also have

  • Experience with SPAC transactions, including de-SPAC mergers, IPO readiness, SEC reporting and technical accounting for complex transactions

  • Experience with TSAs, Day 1 planning and standalone entity readiness

  • Experience with M&A integration process and synergy capture, including collaboration with EYP; CPA licensure is not required for integration-focused work

  • CPA and/or PMP certification is preferred
