Description:

Under the direct supervision from the Professional Registered Nurse, the Nurse Assistant performs specific duties to provide personal health care, clinical service and comfort to patients in accordance with the Mission and Values and policies for Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.Mercy Fitzgerald, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a PCA to join our nursing support team on our Observation unit!

0.6 FTE, 24 hours per week, 7am --7:30pm with EOW

Job Description Summary:

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) is responsible for direct patient care tasks as assigned and under supervision of professional nursing personnel.  Also provides indirect care to maintain unit functions as directed by the professional nursing staff i.e. care and cleaning of specific equipment, transportation of patients, stocking of supplies and equipment, etc.

Requirements

  • Certified Nurse Assistant preferred or current nursing student
  • 1 year of prior acute care experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Current AHA BLS
