More about our team The Perioperative Services Department includes the Operating Room (OR), Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Same Day Surgery (SDS). Our multidisciplinary team collaborates to provide safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care across the perioperative continuum. The Director of Perioperative Services provides leadership and operational oversight for these departments, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, and physician satisfaction.

How you'll contribute A Director, Surgical Services who excels in this role:

  • Provides strategic and operational leadership for OR, PACU, and Same Day Surgery departments.
  • Ensures delivery of safe, high-quality patient care and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Develops and monitors departmental goals, budgets, productivity, and performance metrics.
  • Leads recruitment, retention, coaching, and development of perioperative staff.
  • Partners with physicians and hospital leadership to improve surgical services and patient outcomes.
  • Implements quality improvement initiatives and workflow enhancements.
  • Oversees staffing plans, scheduling, and resource utilization.
  • Maintains compliance with accreditation, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Serves as a leader and resource for clinical and operational excellence across surgical services.

What we're looking for – an experienced healthcare leader with a strong background in perioperative services, operational excellence, and team development. Applicants should possess an active RN license and meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Operating Room experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of management or leadership experience required.
  • Current North Carolina RN License or Compact RN License required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, staff development, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance preferred.
