Amery Hospital & Clinic is looking to hire a Registered Nurse to join our Wound Care team!  Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary:

Performs the primary function of an RN in assessing, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients with chronic non-healing wounds.  Assists physicians with the development and implementation of wound treatment plans and participates in performance improvement review activities.  Understands and supports the ARMC mission, vision, guiding principles and standards of behavior.

Essential Duties:

  • Initiates a nursing assessment of patient's condition upon admission and completes all admission nursing chart forms.
  • Assesses and interprets reports communicating findings with assigned Physician.
  • Recognize and assess initial alterations in the patient's body systems and record data in an orderly fashion, communicating to other health care team members
  • Organize assessment data for accuracy, completeness and confidentiality.
  • Assess, stage, measure and photograph wounds accurately.
  • Assist physician with wound therapy
  • Assess compliance to the clinical pathway and bring to healthcare team any components that may be missing
  • Identify patient care situations that require intervention, implement nursing actions and evaluate responses
  • Identify patient/family education and discharge needs and implement education
  • Ensure that all orders and charges are initiated accurately
  • Coordinate activities with other disciplines (rehab, nutrition, diabetes education, home health, DME, nursing homes and other ancillary services.)

Work Schedule:

  • Casual, as needed basis
  • Typical hours are Monday 7:45 am to 3 pm, Tuesday-Friday 7:45 am to noon

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensure: Current WI RN license in good standing
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Wound care experience preferred.
