Status: Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Position Summary:
Join our Acute Care Rehabilitation Services team in a critical operational role supporting Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. As a Rehabilitation Services Clinical Associate, you will help ensure that referrals, patient information, staffing updates, and team communications remain accurate and timely. Your organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail will help our therapists focus on delivering safe, coordinated patient care.
The Rehabilitation Services Clinical Associate supports the daily operations of hospital-based Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy services. This position serves as a central point of contact for therapy referrals, patient-list management, staffing coordination, precertification requests, and communication among rehabilitation team members.
The coordinator maintains accurate information across the electronic medical record, Microsoft Teams, and Backline+, helps direct referrals to the appropriate therapy service, and supports efficient patient care throughout the day. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to communicate effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in healthcare, rehabilitation services, patient access, medical office administration, or clinical operations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests and adjust to changing patient-care needs.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle patient information with discretion and follow applicable privacy requirements.
- Proficiency with computers, electronic medical records, and collaborative communication platforms.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, or another hospital-based clinical service.
- Familiarity with Cerner, Epic, or another electronic medical record system.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams and secure clinical communication tools.
- Knowledge of acute care patient flow, referral processing, and therapy terminology.
- Previous experience coordinating schedules, staffing information, or departmental work queues.

- Consistently maintains accurate patient, referral, staffing, and scheduling information.
- Recognizes discrepancies across systems and takes appropriate steps to resolve or escalate them.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with clinical and operational partners.
- Remains organized while responding to interruptions and changing priorities.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and understands when to seek clinical or leadership guidance.
- Protects confidential patient and employee information.
- Builds effective working relationships across PT, OT, Speech Therapy, nursing, case management, and other hospital services.
- Demonstrates reliability, initiative, and a service-oriented approach.
