How you'll contribute
A Surgical Technician who excels in this role:

Prepares the surgical suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies; ensures equipment and instruments are in good working order

Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients

Passes instruments to physicians during surgery and continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies

Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory

Participates in performance improvement and continuing education
-
Provides qualify patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed

Maintains regular and reliable attendance

Performs other duties as assigned

Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.

Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.

Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present.

Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

What we're looking for
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; Graduate of a surgical technology program
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE :
- BLS preferred
