What Does a Patient Care Assistant Do?
As a Patient Care Assistant, you will work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to help patients feel safe, comfortable, and cared for during their hospital stay.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting patients with daily activities such as eating, walking, and personal care
- Taking vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Helping keep patient rooms clean, organized, and comfortable
- Supporting nurses with patient care activities
- Providing companionship and continuous observation when needed
- Assisting with mobility and ensuring patient safety
- Communicating patient needs or concerns to the nursing team
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED
- Compassion for others and a desire to help people
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills
- Dependable, caring, and willing to learn
- Ability to stay focused and organized while caring for patients
