Inova Health Center - Ashburn is looking for a Radiology Extern 2 to join the team. This role will be a Varied Shift+Schedule: PRN (as needed)

Radiology Extern 2 Job Responsibilities:

• Under the direct supervision of a registered Imaging Technologist, the Radiology Extern 2 will perform a variety of tasks and procedures in accordance with completed competencies and unit needs.
• Identifies own learning needs and seeks opportunities to enhance practice knowledge base. related to imaging and the imaging process in which they learned in class and practiced in the school setting.
• Assists the healthcare team in implementing the plan of care and achieving desired patient and unit outcomes through effective communication and collaboration.
• Demonstrates the ability and skills to assist with adhering to radiography principles.
• Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding.
• Assists radiologic tech in performing a variety of examinations by using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Full-time student in good standing in an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Must be enrolled in an accredited school or program
• Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start
• Experience: Successful completion of Extern 1 competencies. Must be 2nd year in an accredited Radiologic Technology.
