About the job

As a Sr. Employee Relations / Investigator Specialist within the Labor and Employee Relations function/Central Investigations Team, you will support investigations matters and employee relations strategy. This role blends hands-on case ownership with root-cause/corrective-action governance and manager enablement. You will manage assigned matters from intake through closure, develop investigation or ER response plans, gather and review relevant information, document factual findings, coordinate handoffs, and help ensure matters are handled timely, fairly, consistently, and confidentially.

The role partners closely with HR, Legal, Compliance, Security, site leadership, HRPs, and business stakeholders to reduce repeat issues, improve documentation quality, and promote a fair, ethical, and respectful workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Lead priority investigations, ER, and investigations matters from intake through closure, ensuring cases are handled timely, thoroughly, fairly, consistently, and confidentially.

  • Develop ER or investigation plans, conduct complainant, witness, manager, and subject interviews as appropriate, gather and review relevant evidence, assess credibility, and document factual findings.

  • Prepare clear, concise, objective, and well-supported case summaries, findings, corrective-action records, and closure documentation in HR Acuity or designated case systems.

  • Strengthen investigations execution across key sites by improving ownership clarity, case hygiene, handoffs, aging discipline, and reopen prevention.

  • Embed routines to convert ER trends into root-cause insights, corrective-action accountability, and sustained issue prevention.

  • Translate case data, repeat themes, policy gaps, and control opportunities into practical prevention strategies that reinforce a fair, ethical, and respectful workplace.

  • Build manager and HR capability through targeted coaching on ER practices, policy application, escalation quality, documentation, and consistent decision-making.

Qualifications

  • You Must Have ****

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, compliance, ethics, HR business partnership, labor relations, or a related corporate investigation or ER role.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting investigation findings, case summaries, corrective-action records, or executive-ready updates.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, neutrality, sound judgment, professionalism, and appropriate independence.

We Value ****

  • Experience managing multiple ER matters, investigations, or complex employee relations issues simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.

  • Experience using data, case metrics, HR Acuity or comparable case management systems, dashboards, analytics, or project management practices to support ER, investigations, reporting, or process improvement.

  • Ability to understand diverse business environments, assess risk, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions for site-level ER issues.

  • Experience supporting ER, investigations, ethics, compliance, conduct, performance, policy, benefits, or workplace matters across multiple sites, jurisdictions, or business units.

  • Knowledge of workplace investigation best practices, employee relations, company policies, Code of Conduct expectations, labor and employment law concepts, and corrective-action governance.

  • Ability to analyze complex situations, synthesize facts, separate opinion from evidence, and communicate practical recommendations clearly.

  • Strong communication, interviewing, active listening, coaching, and facilitation skills, with the ability to speak and write clearly, concisely, and professionally.

  • Ability to prioritize competing matters, manage multiple tasks, and move work from intake and requirements through execution, closure, and follow-up.

  • Experience using case management systems, data analytics, scorecards, metrics, or reporting tools to identify trends, monitor action closure, and support prevention routines.

  • Maturity, emotional intelligence, professional skepticism, and comfort operating in a high-confidentiality environment with sensitive employee and business matters.

Working Relationships ****
