How you'll make an impact

The Lead Human Capital Diligence Advisor is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading Human Capital due diligence engagements for private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and corporate acquirers. The role combines deep Employee Benefits and retirement expertise with transaction advisory experience and serves as a foundational builder of the GMAPS Human Capital diligence capability.

Unlike traditional Employee Benefits consulting roles, the Lead Advisor operates within compressed transaction timelines, evaluates incomplete information sets, and translates findings into decision support for sponsors, investment committees, legal counsel, and transaction stakeholders.

The Lead Human Capital Diligence Advisor is expected to independently manage complex diligence engagements while helping establish repeatable methodologies, operating procedures, quality standards, and practice infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead Health & Welfare and Defined Contribution retirement diligence reviews.
  • Conduct management meetings and diligence interviews.
  • Analyze benefit plan design, compliance, fiduciary, and cost-related risks.
  • Develop transaction-focused findings, observations, and recommendations.
  • Support private equity sponsors, corporate development teams, attorneys, and transaction advisors.
  • Identify Human Capital-related opportunities requiring specialized Gallagher expertise.
  • Contribute to diligence methodologies, DRLs, report templates, and practice protocols.
  • Assist in developing training materials and quality standards.
  • Mentor future Advisors and Associates.

About You

  • 8-12+ years Employee Benefits consulting experience.
  • Significant M&A and diligence experience.
  • Demonstrated Health & Welfare expertise.
  • Working knowledge of retirement plans and fiduciary issues.
  • Experience supporting private equity or M&A transactions.
  • Strong client communication and transaction-management capabilities.
