ABOUT THE FOUNDATION: Jordan Education Foundation (JEF) is a nonprofit, founded in 1986, that engages the community to provide resources that enhance educational experiences, strengthen students, and fuel success in Jordan School District. Every dollar donated goes directly to students and teachers. JEF funds Classroom Grants, Principal Pantries in every school, educator recognition, scholarships, and health and wellness support.
ABOUT THE ROLE: The Director leads JEF's fundraising, grantmaking, events, donor relations, and Board of Directors, and connects the business and civic community to the District's schools.
Identify, solicit, steward gifts, and write grant proposals to foundations, corporations, service organizations, and State and Federal programs. Run events, build and monitor the budget, report to the Foundation, and keep the Foundation compliant with laws and by-laws. Administer scholarships, endowments, and donor databases. Lead outreach to patrons, business and civic leaders, employees, and the media, including the website and social media. Serve as liaison to schools and District administration. Assign, supervise, and evaluate Foundation staff.
A record of raising money through more than one channel. Skill in building relationships with business, civic, and community leaders, elected officials, and nonprofit boards. Working knowledge of laws on soliciting funds and managing gifts, grants, and appropriations. Strong written and spoken communication, with website and social media experience. The ability to plan, budget, and work with minimal direction in a fast-paced setting. Proven success leading people and a volunteer Board. High ethical standards and conduct that builds trust.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree plus five years in fundraising, grant writing, or public relations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Nonprofit membership organization experience strongly preferred. Must be fingerprinted and clear a criminal background check. Own transportation required for travel to schools and District sites. COMPENSATION: This is a 242-day Administrator position placed on Lane 3 of the District's Administrator salary schedule. Placement within the lane will be commensurate with the candidate's related education and experience. SELECTION TIMELINE: This position will close at 11:59 P.M. on Sunday, October 25th, 2026. Candidates may be notified and/or communicated with by Monday, November 2nd* *at the earliest.
