How can you make an impact?
McGraw Hill Medical is seeking a strategic and market-focused Senior Editor to lead a portfolio of products across Physical Therapy and Allied Health. This role will have full publishing responsibility for a mix of established market-leading titles and new product opportunities, overseeing both print and digital offerings.
The ideal candidate brings a strong acquisitions background, deep knowledge of healthcare or professional education publishing, and a passion for developing innovative learning solutions that support students, educators, and healthcare professionals. This role requires a balance of editorial leadership, business acumen, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to drive portfolio growth and product success.
This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
What you will be doing:
- Set the strategic course for the Physical Therapy and Allied Health portfolio.
- Assume direct oversight and responsibility for a portfolio of print and digital products, including established market-leading titles and new product initiatives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key educators, clinicians, authors, and professional organizations to stay informed of market trends and customer needs.
- Identify and acquire new content, products, and partnerships that support portfolio growth and business objectives.
- Partner with marketing, product, and sales teams to support product positioning, customer engagement, and portfolio performance.
- Establish revision plans for core titles and propose new projects based on market demand, program needs, and industry trends.
- Take an active role in emerging educational technologies, including AI-enabled learning tools, digital learning solutions, and healthcare education innovation.
- Establish a revision plan for the core 15-20 titles and propose new projects, factoring in important pub dates as the market has demanded 2-3 year revisions on specific titles.
We are looking for someone with:
- Bachelor’s degree required, with 5–7+ years of experience in editorial content development and acquisitions, preferably within medical publishing, and demonstrated expertise in digital content development and product management.
- Proven ability to manage high-profile author teams, lead product development initiatives, and oversee projects requiring strong analysis, strategic planning, and execution.
- Strong business negotiation, partner management, contract negotiation, and implementation skills, with the ability to build and maintain successful professional relationships.
- Excellent project management skills, including managing cross-functional collaboration across internal departments and effectively handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including strong writing and presentation capabilities.
- Advanced digital capabilities, including proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce.com, and the ability to leverage technology to support business and content objectives.
