About the job

The Director of Supply Chain develops and executes Inova Health System's overall Supply Chain strategy at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. Provides general oversight of Supply Chain personnel, operations and budget for accountable areas within the organization. Collaborates with customers, senior management and Supply Chain Office and builds operational alliances with hospital executives, directors, clinical and support staff as it relates to successfully performing Supply Chain operations. Directs the hiring, disciplinary action and performance evaluation of all Supply Chain staff.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, preparing and implementing business strategy to achieve the organization’s goals, ensuring legal compliance, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders, managing employment decisions and contributions of supporting team members, and managing departmental budget and fiscal success.
  • Communicates with the responsible Supply Chain staff and/or customer on each unit regarding changes within the Supply Chain operations and/or results from rounding; Drives accountability across the department on activities that are occurring with team members and projects.
  • Establishes KPIs, monitors performance and drives improvement with accountability in Supply Chain areas within the organization.
  • Identifies and manages Supply Chain risk. Proactively monitors and addresses any supplier performance issues.
  • Takes ownership for building operational alliances with hospital executives, directors, clinical and support staff as it relates to successfully performing the services required.
  • Works closely with senior management to drive communication on Supply Chain challenges and successes.
  • Leads, implements, measures and directs an integrated Supply Chain across the hospital campus.
  • Understands the strategies of the facility and develops plans to support those strategies within Supply Chain.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and works closely with Senior Director of Supply Chain Operations and Supply Chain Site Manager to execute change.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in supply chain management
  • 2 years of management/supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or hospital supply chain or logistics
