Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Shop Operations Team Manager - Nights to join our Cummins Inc. team in Columbus, IN .

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.

  • Coach and develop team members to strengthen performance, engagement, and accountability.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and implement process and safety improvements.

  • Foster a culture of health and safety through proactive risk identification and corrective action.

  • Guide teams through problem-solving activities to address operational challenges and prevent recurrence.

  • Support high-quality manufacturing outcomes by monitoring performance and resolving production issues.

  • Build an inclusive, results-driven environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and shared success.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate production teams while driving accountability and results.

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and decision-making skills with the ability to work effectively across functions.

  • Experience championing workplace safety, incident prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Proven ability to prioritize work, remove obstacles, and execute operational goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to build strong team relationships, manage conflict effectively, and foster an engaged and inclusive culture.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university or equivalent degree required, or equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Supervisory experience preferred.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Key Competencies:

  • Supervise daily manufacturing activities, ensuring production schedules, quality expectations, and operational objectives are achieved.

  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback to team members while supporting employee growth and development.

  • Lead by example in promoting a safe, organized, and productive work environment with strong housekeeping standards.

  • Utilize root cause analysis and structured problem-solving techniques to investigate incidents and implement sustainable corrective actions.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to improve manufacturing processes, increase efficiency, and enhance overall operational performance.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, adaptability, and communication skills while effectively managing priorities and team dynamics.

  • Thrive in a collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives, engagement, and continuous learning.

  • Shift Requirements: Night Shift: Monday-Friday. 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

  • Expectation: 100% onsite
