Artificial Intelligence is transforming how Schwab Operations works, makes decisions, and delivers value. As Senior Manager, AI Portfolio & Program Management, you will bring structure, visibility, and strategic focus to a growing portfolio of AI initiatives across Operations.

You will connect AI investments, priorities, risks, dependencies, and outcomes into an integrated portfolio view that helps leaders make informed decisions. Working across Operations, Technology, Central Data, enterprise AI teams, and other business partners, you will strengthen portfolio governance, improve transparency, and help AI investments deliver measurable business value.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead AI portfolio management, including intake, prioritization, governance, lifecycle standards, stage gates, and escalation processes.

  • Maintain an integrated view of AI initiatives, investments, delivery capacity, milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource constraints to support prioritization and tradeoff decisions.

  • Establish consistent measures for initiative health, business outcomes, benefit realization, forecast versus realized value, and post-implementation results.

  • Translate complex portfolio information into concise, executive-ready reporting, insights, and strategic recommendations.

  • Identify and manage portfolio risks, cross-initiative dependencies, sequencing conflicts, and delivery blockers, facilitating timely decisions and resolution.

  • Partner across business, technology, data, risk, control, and AI teams to connect initiatives, align priorities, and advance shared outcomes.

  • Influence decisions and drive commitments across a complex, matrixed organization without relying on direct authority.

  • Integrate responsible AI, data, technology, privacy, risk, control, and regulatory considerations into portfolio governance and escalation processes.

What you have

Success in this role requires the following demonstrated skills and behaviors:

  • AI and technology fluency: Working knowledge of AI initiatives and the data, technology, privacy, risk, control, and responsible AI considerations that influence their delivery.

  • Portfolio and program leadership: Ability to manage complex, concurrent initiatives while establishing clear priorities, governance, milestones, dependencies, and accountability.

  • Strategic thinking and business acumen: Ability to connect AI investments and portfolio decisions to strategic priorities, business outcomes, and value realization.

  • Analytical thinking: Ability to synthesize delivery, financial, capacity, risk, and outcome data to inform prioritization, investment, and tradeoff decisions.

  • Metrics and value management: Ability to define meaningful measures of portfolio health, progress, outcomes, benefits, and realized value.

  • Risk and dependency management: Ability to anticipate risks, identify interdependencies and constraints, and drive timely resolution or escalation.

  • Stakeholder management and influence: Ability to build relationships, create alignment, and drive commitments across diverse stakeholders in a matrixed environment.

  • Executive communication and presentation: Ability to simplify complex information and communicate clear insights and recommendations to senior audiences.

  • Adaptability and results orientation: Ability to bring structure to ambiguity, adjust as AI capabilities and priorities evolve, and maintain focus on measurable business impact.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Agile, Lean, or other structured delivery frameworks.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
