Crescent Energy is seeking an experienced Landman to manage land activities within an assigned geographic area in support of multi-rig drilling programs, ongoing production operations, and acquisitions and divestitures. This position is responsible for negotiating and administering agreements, resolving surface and mineral title matters, securing development rights, and advising management on land, contractual, and regulatory issues.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, commercially minded professional who takes ownership of projects, exercises sound judgment, and builds productive relationships with landowners, working interest owners, and internal teams. Success in this role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in an active development environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development and operations. Lead and coordinate land activities to ensure leases, title, agreements, and surface rights are in place to meet drilling and production schedules.
  • Negotiate and administer agreements. Draft, review, interpret, and negotiate oil and gas leases, joint operating agreements, rights-of-way, farmouts, area of mutual interest and joint development agreements, purchase and sale agreements, letter agreements, surface use agreements, and damage settlements.
  • Manage title and curative work. Coordinate and oversee abstracts, title examinations, and curative activities related to surface and mineral ownership; work with legal counsel, brokers, and other stakeholders to resolve title issues.
  • Ensure contractual compliance. Monitor contractual obligations, deadlines, and commitments to protect company interests and support timely execution of development plans.
  • Secure surface and operating rights. Collaborate with surface Landman to acquire drill sites, easements, surface leases, access roads, frac pit locations, water use rights, and other rights needed for drilling, completion, and production activities.
  • Support acquisitions and divestitures. Conduct and coordinate land and title due diligence, identify risks and obligations, and collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to support transaction execution.
  • Direct field personnel and consultants. Manage the work of land brokers, surveyors, and other consultants performing lease acquisition, title research, curative work, damage settlements, and right-of-way acquisition.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships. Serve as a company representative with landowners, mineral and royalty owners, working interest owners, communities, and local, county, state, and federal agencies.
  • Resolve landowner concerns and disputes. Address complaints, ownership disputes, surface damages, and other land-related issues; recommend practical resolutions that protect company interests and maintain productive relationships.
  • Collaborate across disciplines. Partner with Operations, Engineering, Geology, Regulatory, Legal, and Accounting to align land activities with development plans and business objectives.
  • Communicate priorities and risks. Provide timely updates to management and project teams on land readiness, outstanding issues, timelines, and recommended actions.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience directing land brokers, surveyors, consultants, and field land personnel supporting activities in an active development area.
  • Strong knowledge of land agreements, title analysis, curative requirements, and the land activities necessary to support drilling and production operations.
  • Proven ability to negotiate agreements, resolve complex issues, and balance commercial objectives with operational requirements.
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing effective processes within and across departments.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver results with limited supervision.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and the ability to advance department and company goals through effective collaboration.
