Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced level Safety Professional to serve as a key safety partner to our cement manufacturing operation in Nazareth, PA. This role is ideal for a safety professional who thrives in a complex heavy industrial environment and can influence leaders, engage employees, and translate safety requirements into practical solutions that improve how work is performed.

Working closely with plant leadership, operations, maintenance, and frontline employees, you will help shape safety strategy, strengthen safety leadership capabilities, and drive continuous improvement across the facility.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partner with plant leadership to develop and execute safety strategies that reduce operational risk and strengthen safety performance.
  • Serve as a trusted safety advisor to operations, maintenance, and frontline leaders, providing practical guidance on complex safety issues.  Maintain a visible presence throughout the operation and build strong relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Lead risk assessments, workplace inspections, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
  • Coach supervisors and employees to strengthen hazard recognition, accountability, and ownership of safety.
  • Evaluate high-risk work activities and recommend effective engineering, administrative, and work-practice controls.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable MSHA, DOT, company, and other regulatory safety requirements.
  • Analyze leading and lagging safety indicators to identify trends, priorities, and opportunities for improvement.

What Are We Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive safety experience in cement, mining, aggregates, heavy manufacturing, steel, chemicals, power generation, or another complex industrial environment preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of occupational safety regulations, hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and root-cause analysis.
  • MSHA and DOT experience strongly preferred; comparable experience in a highly regulated heavy industrial environment will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence operational leaders and employees without relying solely on positional authority.
  • Experience leading safety improvements and translating regulatory requirements into practical operating solutions.
  • Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to independently prioritize issues, identify emerging risks, and drive corrective actions to completion.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant industrial safety experience.
  • Professional safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, or equivalent credentials are a plus.

Work Environment

This role is based at our Nazareth cement manufacturing facility and requires a strong field presence. You will regularly work alongside operations and maintenance teams throughout the plant, including production areas, shops, processing equipment, and outdoor operational areas.

This is an opportunity for an experienced safety professional who enjoys being in the operation, solving problems with leaders and employees, and directly influencing safety performance, rather than working primarily from an office.
