About the job

Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.

The Transformation Management Office (TMO) at Schwab was established to accelerate large, cross-enterprise transformations across the firm.  This organization partners closely with teams across Schwab to support all facets of transformation, from identifying and prioritizing opportunities, to implementing and executing transformation programs, to evolving skillsets and mindsets.

The TMO is seeking a Senior Manager of Business Transformation Change Management (individual contributor) with three key mandates. First, the Senior Manager of Business Transformation & Change will define and execute change management approaches and plans for transformation initiatives across the firm. Specific initiatives will vary over time, though they focus on maximizing employee readiness for integrations/acquisitions, implementing cross-functional capabilities that drive greater scale and efficiency, and modernizing how Schwab operates. Second, the role will help scale change management capabilities across partner organizations and teams to accelerate and sustain adoption. Finally, as a member of an evolving and growing team, the Senior Manager of Business Transformation & Change will help contribute to the culture of the TMO team and how we work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop change strategies: Create comprehensive change management strategies, plans, and readiness materials that support transformation objectives and proactively address key issues, risks, and opportunities.

  • Shape and deliver the approach: Partner closely with TMO leaders and business stakeholders to define the change approach, design actionable plans, coordinate execution, and facilitate effective handoffs.

  • Build business context: Develop a deep understanding of each supported business area, including its priorities, operating environment, stakeholders, and change impacts.

  • Mobilize work quickly: Rapidly engage stakeholders, clarify scope and outcomes, establish ways of working, and launch new bodies of work.

  • Scale change capabilities: Develop reusable change management frameworks, tools, and best practices, and help transformation sponsors, initiative leads, and teams build compelling cases for change.

  • Coordinate the change portfolio: Create and maintain integrated change roadmaps, calendars, and plans across transformation efforts, while capturing insights on stakeholder readiness, response, and adoption.

  • Drive stakeholder engagement and readiness: Deliver clear communications, strengthen engagement, and address stakeholder needs throughout the transformation journey—including alignment to the vision, sustained momentum, and field readiness.

  • Strengthen Schwab’s transformation capabilities: Contribute practical change and transformation best practices, share lessons across initiatives, and support broader transformation communications.

  • Align across initiatives: Work closely with TMO leaders and team members to coordinate change efforts, manage interdependencies, and create a cohesive experience across related initiatives.

  • Shape team culture and operations: Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing TMO culture, and help establish effective team norms, processes, and ways of working.

  • Support broader TMO priorities: Provide flexible, high-impact support across the TMO portfolio as business needs and priorities evolve.

  • Strategic thinker – Breaks down complex problems, evaluates situations from multiple perspectives, and thoughtfully prioritizes the work that will create the greatest impact

  • Action-oriented mobilizer – Quickly brings structure to ambiguity, aligns stakeholders around a clear scope and outcomes, activates teams, and influences progress without direct authority

  • Effective communicator and facilitator – Translates complex concepts into clear, compelling messages for varied audiences; facilitates productive discussions; and creates high-quality communications, presentations, and other materials

  • Adaptable, low-ego team player – Works collaboratively, remains effective amid ambiguity, welcomes different perspectives, and adjusts quickly as priorities and circumstances evolve

  • One Schwab mindset – Looks across organizational boundaries, applies lessons and best practices from other initiatives, and promotes consistency and enterprise-wide outcomes where appropriate

  • Strong relationship builder – Builds trusted, productive relationships across the firm and uses strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to align stakeholders, navigate challenges, and accelerate progress

  • Proactive self**-starter –** Thrives in a fast-paced environment, anticipates needs, maintains a positive and solutions-oriented approach, and demonstrates a strong bias for action and reliable execution
