About the job

Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (JHTV), the university's technology commercialization division, is launching the JHTV Analyst Program, a structured two-year experiential learning opportunity designed for recent graduates interested in innovation, entrepreneurship, healthcare, science, business, law, technology, and public impact.

We are seeking an Analyst, Ecosystem & Programming who will contribute to high-priority strategic initiatives while gaining broad exposure to technology commercialization, startup formation, intellectual property, corporate engagement, venture funding, and innovation management. Through cohort-based learning, professional development programming, executive exposure, cross-functional projects, and mentorship, analysts develop the analytical, communication, and leadership skills that prepare them for graduate study or future careers across the innovation economy.

At the end of the two-year term, Analysts may be considered for open positions within JHTV or the university; however, continuation of employment beyond the term is not guaranteed.

The Analyst, Ecosystem & Programming The Analyst, Ecosystem & Programming supports the open programming available to every Hopkins innovator, including the Venture Mentoring Program, Idea to Industry, HEXcite, structured office hours, and ecosystem events. The role combines program operations, coordination, communications, and analysis to support consistent delivery, measure participation and outcomes, and inform the design of new and adjusting offerings across the JHTV portfolio.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to support strategic initiatives and organizational priorities.
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and synthesize information from multiple sources to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and recommendations.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, presentations, briefing materials, and executive summaries for operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Support projects involving faculty, university leaders, external partners, and other stakeholders by conducting research, analysis, and developing recommendations.
  • Translate complex information into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Support business process improvement initiatives and recommend enhancements to tools, systems, workflows, and reporting practices.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, trackers, and project materials.
  • Build productive relationships across JHTV and the broader university community.
  • Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Participate in cohort-based onboarding, professional development programming, mentorship opportunities, and cross-functional learning experiences.
  • Contribute to a capstone project and final presentation addressing a strategic opportunity or challenge within JHTV.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

In addition to duties described above

  • Support day-to-day operations of the Venture Mentoring Program, including scheduling, participant onboarding, communications, and program logistics.
  • Track mentor and team engagement, session activity, and outcomes across the Venture Mentoring Program; prepare progress summaries and metrics for the Director and JHTV leadership.
  • Coordinate logistics, recruitment, communications, speaker support, and participant experience for open programs including Idea to Industry, HEXcite, early-stage workshops, and ecosystem events.
  • Support execution of structured office hours across regulatory, legal, pitch development, and financial modeling topics, including scheduling, service-provider coordination, and participant follow-up.
  • Build and maintain the vendor and service-provider database available to Hopkins innovators and portfolio companies, keeping listings current and tracking utilization.
  • Maintain records of the mentor, adviser, investor, and alumni network, and support outreach, onboarding, and stewardship in coordination with the Director.
  • Develop and maintain program materials, navigation resources, onboarding guides, and early-stage educational content for faculty, student, and community innovators.
  • Track participation, engagement, and outcomes across the full programming portfolio; build reporting that shows which offerings are working, who they reach, and where demand is unmet.
  • Research comparable programs at peer institutions and across the broader innovation ecosystem to inform the design of new and adjusting offerings.
  • Support the design, piloting, launch, and post-pilot assessment of new programmatic offerings as JHTV’s portfolio and priorities evolve.
