About the job

Our Chubb Associate Program is a great starting point for individuals seeking an entry-level role in the insurance industry. The Property and Casualty Risk Engineer (PCRE) professional operates within the Risk Consulting Department and is considered an integral component of the valued added services that we provide for our commercial insurance policy holders. Our Chubb Associate roles offer growth opportunities and serve as a foundation for a career in insurance, while being supported by our experienced team members.

By joining the Chubb Associate Program, you will be part of an experience that supports the well-rounded development of critical business skills which in turn contributes to the future success of our company. Our blended program is designed to include hands-on business assignments in a variety of disciplines, interactive classroom instruction, team assignments and direct interaction with other early career professionals as well as with many of our senior executives.

Risk Consulting is a critical service we provide to our commercial insureds. As a PCRE professional, you will prepare surveys for current and prospective accounts, including comprehensive reports that identify hazards, loss-producing exposures, and existing or recommended controls. PCREs visit existing accounts to discuss recommendations, evaluate changes in exposures, and provide risk improvement services. Reports, letters, and surveys are prepared in accordance with loss prevention guidelines. This role involves frequent interaction with insureds and brokers, so strong marketing and communication skills are essential.

As a Chubb Associate, you will experience:

  • Executive engagement allowing you the opportunity to network and learn from Chubb’s thought leaders.
  • Mentoring support from your manager and former Chubb Associates to help you navigate through professional situations.

Additional PCRE responsibilities include:

  • Completing client reviews and evaluations in support of our underwriting departments, allowing for more informed decisions to maximize profit and growth.
  • Accomplishing client service and close collaboration with clients on the identification and control of claim trends and property and casualty related exposures. Providing clients with training on safety program improvements and exposure control techniques such as accident investigation, safety committee development, plant inspection programs, ergonomics, property conservation and better understanding federal and state agency.
  • Building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external customers, including clients, underwriting and service teams, claims, and agents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering, science, or life sciences preferred, with technical training in inspection, engineering, quality control, manufacturing, or lab work highly desirable
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, consultative, sales, and marketing skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret technical information, solve problems creatively, and adapt to new ideas and situations
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, and SharePoint
  • Strong initiative, leadership, time management, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team

The pay range for the role is $65,000 to $80,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.  Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website.  The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
