Now Brewing – manager, supplier relationships! #tobeapartner
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.
Do you enjoy building supplier partnerships that keep coffeehouses running smoothly? As a manager of supplier relationships in Facilities Supplier Performance, you will contribute to Starbucks’ success by managing supplier sourcing and relationship practices that reduce costs and improve service and quality. You will manage a portfolio of new and ongoing key supplier relationships and hold outsourced service providers to our service, quality, and cost expectations. You will put our supplier performance program to work across soft services, hard services, or equipment, using Service Level Agreements, scorecards, KPIs, and corrective action routines to turn data into better results for our coffeehouses. Working closely with Sourcing, Legal, Operations, and regional teams, you will translate strategy into results. By partnering across teams, you will help uphold the Starbucks experience and support growth through reliable, high-performing supplier relationships.
As a manager, supplier relationships, you will…

- Coach, develop, and support the engagement and performance of your team, hold them accountable to clear expectations, and teach and mentor partners on supplier management roles and processes.
- Manage new and ongoing key supplier relationships within an assigned category (soft services, hard services, or equipment), promoting best practices in performance and cost management and ensuring reliable execution.
- Execute the supplier performance program within your categories, applying standardized scorecards, performance standards, and corrective action routines that drive proactive supplier accountability.
- Monitor supplier performance against Key Performance Indicators and contract requirements, including fee-at-risk mechanisms, and provide regular management reporting on results and trends.
- Develop and maintain Service Level Agreements and the processes used to actively manage and monitor supplier performance through the relationship life cycle.
- Initiate and lead formal business and performance reviews with supplier and Starbucks leadership to set strategic direction, resolve performance gaps, and identify improvement and development opportunities.
- Support compliance to preferred and approved suppliers by partnering with Sourcing, Operations, and regional teams to reduce off-contract work and capture negotiated value.
- Identify synergies across existing supplier services, research industry trends and new sources of supply, and find opportunities to increase quality and efficiency, improve processes, and reduce costs.
- Serve as the point person between internal business owners and suppliers, leading efforts to resolve performance issues, anomalies, or exceptions.
- Lead or participate in cross-facility RFPs, sourcing activities, and supplier contract negotiations, providing input on statements of work, award criteria, contract review, and supplier selection.
- Apply contract administration capabilities to support financial and contract governance across your assigned supplier portfolio.
- Act as the interface with Legal, Procurement, project managers, and business unit leadership on supplier relationships, business requirements, direction, and strategy, building collaborative relationships that close gaps and improve supplier outcomes.
