Position Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the building principal, to provide daily support of students in the lunchroom. May be requested to assist recess duties; assist teachers as assigned, provide supervision for students.

Essential Job Functions •         Wipe down tables and assist with removal of garbage cans •         Overseeing safety and cleanliness in the lunchroom/cafeteria space *         Supervise students during their lunch time and monitor behaviors

Additional Duties: •         Perform any other related duties as assigned. Note:   The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.  It is not meant to be all inclusive of every task or responsibility.

Equipment •         Standard cafeteria tables and garbage cans *         Standard wet rags and cleaning sprays

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities •         Ability to work in a fast paced environment. •         Ability to perform physical activities without difficulty. •         Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals. •         Ability to maintain cleanliness of the lunch tables and support student cleaners. •         Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work. •         Ability to wipe down tables quickly and efficiently. •         Effective verbal communication skills. Spanish language abilities appreciated, but not required.

Working Environment

•         Ability to perform physical activities •         Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities or recess.

Qualifications Profile: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.  Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

•         High School diploma or equivalent. •         Must be 18 years of age or older.

Contract: Salary Schedule Level E1 $17.10 an hour *Part time, 10 hrs per week, time card. Not Benefit Eligible
